The Rams Head Inn - Denshaw
The Rams Head Inn
Description
The Rams Head Inn at Denshaw has been proudly owned by the Haigh family for over 30 years. With a rich history spanning more than 450 years, this charming inn is perched at 1212 feet above sea level, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Saddleworth moors stretching towards Rochdale, Oldham, and Manchester. Inside, much of its character remains unchanged; the walls are adorned with memorabilia, oak settles invite you to relax, and informal dining tables and chairs create a welcoming atmosphere warmed by roaring real fires and stoves. Evolving with the times, The Rams Head has transformed from a traditional alehouse to one of the original gastro pubs, serving fine pub food crafted from farm-assured meats and quality local ingredients. Yesterday, we enjoyed a lovely meal. The lamb and pie were delicious, and we savored every bite. The service and ambiance were great, and even though the lemon meringue pie had run out, we opted for the Valentine's Sharing dessert, which was beautifully presented and equally delicious. This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last. Highly recommend!
