Aloha Tacos - Dawson

Aloha's orange taco stand is easy to spot and your tastebuds will be glad it caught your eye! Offerings are usually three different kinds of soft tacos (on flour or corn tortillas), salads, and unique iced teas. There's a vegetarian taco every day, and creative meat/fish options as well. Tacos and salads are brimming with fresh veggies, and as many as possible are sourced locally. The prices are fair and the service is quick! If the picnic tables beside the stand are full, walk just two minutes to Front Street to enjoy a view of the Yukon River while you eat! I've visited Aloha many times and would highly recommend it!

Ok I staked this place out for a WHILE because the hours are true to Yukon time. Is it a Mexican taco? No. I had the fish taco and it came with some kind of flavoured rice on the side I think (but I'd rather have more tacos than filler). The fish taco is good, but it doesn't meld.. like melt in your mouth with the fusion of heaven that you get in Mexico. The slaw was vinegary and runny all over, there was not enough saucy stuff but the fish was good. I'm stoked that there's a taco stand regardless and I'll go back.

We love eating here in the summer. Great for kids and families to have a nice lunch, or take for a picnic somewhere. It's so nice to have a quick, casual, outdoor option and take advantage of the sunshine. Super creative made-from-scratch food. The tacos are delicious and fresh, and have really interesting spices and flavours that are always changing, so you never get bored and can try new taco varieties all the time, as well as some cool non-taco options that change too. My personal faves are the huevos shakshuka and the pulled pork tacos. Aloha also has really tasty homemade soda drinks-- the rose one is to die for!

Fast, courteous vendors who prepare great food at a fair price. The menu seems to change frequently enough for locals to enjoy a variety of good foods over the season. I was very impressed with the bean bowl I had this past season and do look forward to more delicious and nutritious offerings in the coming season.

Always home-made, creative and delicious! If you want greasy, bland tacos, this is not for you... but if you like good, fresh, healthy food made with love and flair, you'll not be disappointed.
