Contribute FeedbackKate's restaurant received mixed reviews from customers. Some complained about the service, pricing, and food quality, while others praised the atmosphere, delicious dishes, and hardworking staff. Despite some negative experiences, many diners enjoyed their meals and the unique charm of the restaurant. Overall, Kate's seems to have a loyal local following, with some visitors recommending it to others. It seems like a popular spot in Dawson, so be prepared for possible wait times during peak hours.
We walked to Kate's looking forward to dinner after reading the great reviews. When we got there, it was not just closed, but the door and windows are boarded up. I suspect another victim of ill-advised lock downs.
Spacious and bright restaurant, about 10 tables inside, and mostly full for dinner. There was one young lady serving all of the tables, mixing cocktails, pouring water, bussing tables and still smiling and chatting with the customers. Yes, maybe the wait was a bit longer but the food when it was served was great and everyone was patient, understanding and frankly in awe of her energy. We had the eggplant burger and the schnitzel and both were delicious.
We were waited on by one waitress. The entire restaurant was hers. She was efficient, food was great, hot, (schnitzel special was awesome) and friendly. Highly recommend it.
Traveling with our teenager is hard to please at times, but one night she had the ribs, and the other night she had the Pulled Pork Poutine dinner special. it was so good, my husband had a half order for his dessert!!! the menu could please everyone. What I liked was there was locals and travellers all sharing the same space. We always sat inside, but there was also a large covered patio if that suits you better. The servers worked hard to serve everyone in a timely fashion.
I did not know tomatoes in a BLT could be sliced so thinly and that bacon could also be so thin and that bread could be so thin for $12.50.
