Reviews - Canalside
Reviews summary
Nestled near Brindley Place, Canalside Cafe enchants with its quirky decor and cozy atmosphere, featuring mismatched furniture and a scenic canal view. Patrons appreciate the hearty breakfast options and budget-friendly prices, though service can be slow, especially during busy times. While the menu could benefit from more vegan options, the freshly cooked meals generally receive praise. Guests enjoy the warm hospitality, often noting the attentive staff. For a relaxed outing with drinks or a sweet treat, this cafe offers a delightful experience—perfect on sunny days, albeit with some room for enhancement in service efficiency.

Absolutely horrendous. Close this pub down and never ever reopen.. i seriously would avoid this place rude waiters, disgusting food and terrible portion size. Google this place to find out more
During two separate visits, our straightforward bar orders were delivered incorrectly and needed to be fixed, much to the irritation of the staff member who served us (the same person both times). While mistakes can happen, the dirty cutlery (see photo) added to our disappointment, leading us to decide not to come back.
This charming little pub/cafe has a cozy atmosphere, featuring warm fireplaces inside and outdoor seating by the canal, perfect for watching the barges go by. Although we didn't try the food, they offer omelettes and various baked goods, including cakes and pastries. We only stopped by for drinks and really enjoyed our experience. The bar is well-stocked, and hot beverages are also available.
The menu focuses on classic homemade comfort food, including staples like cottage pie and baked potatoes, all at reasonable prices. Just keep your expectations in check; it's good but not gourmet. If you find yourself craving breakfast later in the day, they serve it all day for just £5. The staff are efficient and will get your food and drinks to you in a timely manner, though don’t expect overly friendly service. The drink selection is quite good too, especially if you enjoy real ale on tap. Overall, it’s a lovely spot to unwind.
Great little pub by the canal. Cozy, friendly staff and food tastes surprisingly good (loved the veggie sausages) for something that costs less than 5£. Only downside is the waiting time for food. If you do order make sure you have around 30min. But its worth the wait to be honest. To the pub owner, improve your serving time and this could be a true pub landmark for birmingham.

Today we had a nice 3-course stuck in their restaurant. the food was freshly cooked and tasted super, but what really made our visit special were the brilliant contributors. they went out of the way to make sure that everything was in order with our meal and we will return definitiw as a result. please give them our thanks to them.
I have visited this garden center twice and had a great experience both times. They have an excellent selection and a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is quite good, offering great food that is definitely worth the money. The service is fast, and I would highly recommend it.
This was the second year that Falcon Classic served as our tour destination. The buffet prepared for us falconers was absolutely delicious and was served promptly. The staff at the center is dedicated to providing excellent service and ensures that visitors have a wonderful experience.
The garden center is beautiful and offers some lovely items, though I find it a bit pricey compared to nearby competitors. It was enjoyable to see the animals during our visit, which lasted a few hours. The restaurant was also delightful, with very attentive staff. However, I would advise against the cake. We spent £9 on two take-away desserts, and they were extremely dry—I had to put mine aside after just a spoonful.
