This wonderful restaurant in the middle of Darwin, makes you feel as if you were in Thailand. With an open deck dinning and also under cover, the feel of the place is sensational. The food is nothing short of amazing and the prices are not exorbitant. And to top it all, the staff are all very friendly. You will love this place! View all feedback.
What Alba Naranjo doesn't like about Thailicious:
Who is running the place? After waiting for over twenty minutes and following several requests to disinterested staff members, we eventually placed our order. The entrees were disappointing: the 'stuffed' chicken wings were not stuffed but flavoured winglets and the 'birds nest' was dry noodles and over crisped quail. The main was worse. Over cooked rice and thin flavourless Massaman curry added to our disappointment... View all feedback.
Curries runny, watery and done on the cheap; coconut cream/milk out of a carton. Duck curry served with green grapes not lychees. No effort into presentation, rice is microwaved. Menu items and suggested accompaniments never arrive. Tuk Tuk chicken, lacked flavour and thai herbs, tasted...More
We arrived to Thailicious for our pre booked table. The first staff member looked at us blankly before palming us off to another staff member to find our table who looked around and then walked off, leaving us to the 3rd staff member who was the bar tender who served another person and made drinks before speaking to us. We were then sat on an unmade, dirty table which was not cleaned for us. We ordered sparkling mineral water with lemon. The water came flat-ish with no lemon, we asked 2 times for lemon before my partner went to the bar to get the lemon which took the bar tender a few minutes to get whilst darting around like a deer in headlights. We then attempted to order Satay Chicken Skewers for entree and a couple of mains. We were told they don't have any more satay skewers (at approx 745pm) so opted for spring rolls instead. We waited and waited, then at approx 830pm a waitress came out with chicken wings and said something along the lines of "no have spring rolls" and tried to give us the chicken wings, we explained we didn't order these and have been waiting quite some time for our spring rolls and to cancel the entree and bring out the mains. We also asked how long the mains would be and the waitress looked blankly back and said I don't know. That is where our evening at Thailicious ended. WHAT A JOKE!!! Atrocious service, wait staff have no idea what they are doing and kitchen just send out alternate entrees without checking with the table first? I am dumbfounded!! NEVER AGAIN!
I cannot tolerate it having to wait whilst staff continue to chat whilst im standing in front of them by waiting for a table... However another waitperson stopped me leaving with a friendly smile and soother my ego. Laksa was yum.
Every time I am in Darwin I make sure I have time to visit. Their Laksa is unlike anything I have had before, and the cocktails are out of this world.
We had a big group this night and they were very happy to serve us. I got there later and they got me a chair to sit with my friends so that was nice. They had a good variety of food to choose from and they were all reasonably priced. Food came quite quick and the best part is they spilt bills!
