Always drop in here when in Darwin. It is a nice spot to have a cold drink and the meals are good as well. It is one of the better places on Mitchell it is consistent with the quality of food and the staff are pleasant. Have been visiting the Tap every trip to Darwin and it has not disappointed me once. Will be back for a cold drink in a few months' time. View all feedback.
What Enrique Hinojosa doesn't like about Tap on Mitchell:
With such an abundance of Barramundi in the region you would think that these guys would make a good battered fish and chips. Instead both the fish and chips were over cooked, the batter was heavy, came apart from the fish when broken, lacked flavour and the portions were small. When informed of my dissatisfaction they couldn't see a problem. Ate and drank here a lot when I was in Darwin lovely girls and both good and affordable food. Awesome cocktails. Lively and fun.
Breakfast is terrible value for money, had the Museli $14 and the Bacon Bennie $17 both pretty disappointing. Went for a beer later that evening and eftpos was down but good live music.

I had an early walk in the city this morning and passed by the Tap in Mitchell St. I had half an hour to wait for the nearby pharmacy to open so I ordered a flat white and some banana bread. The flat white was the best I have had in the Northern Territory! The venue was shady and quiet. Many workers called in to get a takeaway coffee. The tables went from 5 in use at 8am to 20 by 9.30 when I walked past again. Many were having breakfast. My coffee and bread was only $6.50!
