Reviews - Bakestone
Reviews summary
Nestled within a charming garden center, this restaurant presents a blend of delightful treats and service hiccups. Diners rave about the vibrant atmosphere and fresh offerings, particularly the breakfast items and delectable cakes. However, the dining experience is often marred by slow and disorganized service, leaving guests frustrated with long waits and table assignments. While standout dishes like eggs benedict shine, issues with certain food quality dampen enthusiasm. Overall, patrons appreciate the pleasant surroundings and occasional friendly service but hope for improvements in organization and consistency to elevate their visits.

I visited in November and delighted we did! We met a lovely man at the window who makes a gorgeous cup of tea Me and my mom went for a walk and came across this lovely cafe, we both got teas, my mom got a carrot cake and I got an cherry bakewell slice which were OUT OF THIS WORLD We sat down at the benches and enjoyed the gorgeous view Highly recommend everyone visit View all feedback.
What Ines Apodaca dislikes about Bakestone:
they are sooo slow, they do not serve a person at a time, they serve no one. the people are waiting literally, even if no one is served as they make other food, very under personal, restaurant was full empty tables, but they say they have to be allocated to a table, why? it was half empty, let them just find the people their own table, their bad process made so much harder than it had to be, only the person who serve... The last few occasions I have been very disappointed in the full breakfast the bread hard and tasteless, the potatoes soggy, not up to the usual standards
Love this place, such a nice place to have any meal, breakfast or brunch is my go to, also can't leave tbis place without looking at some gardening products
Service was OK, some of the staff appeared demotivated and disinterested. This affects the atmosphere.

The restaurant offers a dog-friendly atmosphere with outdoor seating. A generous slice of cake is priced at €4.
Lovely place to meet with a friend for a cuppa and something to eat. (Translated by Google) Encantador lugar para reunirse con un amigo para tomar una taza y comer algo.
Everything looks without substance. the speck, eggs and toast were well done. the carrots were boiled and hard in the middle. the woman had the Florentine and the spinach seemed frozen and still in balls without salt butter or taste. very little hollandaise. cost for cut corners

Visited this morning for breakfast. The staff are friendly and efficient , the restaurant is spotless, and the food was very tasty and piping hot. The coffee is very good too. There is plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor, and the restaurant is bright and airy with plenty of room to move around. I would definitely return.
My son and I had a great time during our recent visit to this cafe. The surroundings were lovely, making it a beautiful cafe. The food selection was small but nice, and there was a good variety of desserts and cakes. My son especially loved the Nutella pancakes. The coffee was good and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed exploring the garden centre after our meal and will definitely make time to browse the shop on our next visit.
Took my family for breakfast to Bakestone at Fota Retail park as a treat. We have been in the past we’re not disappointed but seems like it was not a good day. My son’s pancakes were stodgy and hodge podge in appearance. My husband and I had stale and tough bread in our Eggs Benedict and struggled to cut through it. I hope this was a once off but am still reluctant to recommend it or visit again.
The breakfast was cold and the ordering system was complicated. We ordered the full breakfast on a Sunday around 12:30 and it came out in about five minutes, indicating it was not cooked to order. All items on the plate were cold, with the bacon being particularly unappetizing as the fat had congealed. We suspect the breakfasts were kept under a heat lamp. The ordering system was the most complicated we have encountered. We would not return for a late breakfast and do not recommend it to others. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience.
We have visited Bakestone many times, but today's experience was disappointing. The women's toilets were out of order, with a sign directing women to use the wheelchair-accessible toilet, which I found to be blocked. I reported this to the staff, and I saw the manageress try to resolve the issue, but unfortunately, she couldn't. Soon after, another sign was put up directing female customers to use the men's toilets, which was unacceptable. Surely there should be a backup plan for situations like this, perhaps opening the staff restroom for women during such outages. Had I known about this beforehand, I wouldn't have ordered food. This experience was disappointing and unacceptable.

Delicious food and coffee coupled with amazing service! I would highly recommend checking this place out!
Went to bakestone on Sunday with a gang for brunch and it was awesome! We've been here a few times and it's always been good, I think they've extended the menu and it's even better now! Keep up the good work!
Great food and service yesterday imaginative menu well worth the trip gorgeous shop and nice garden centre too luv it xx
Love Bakestone. There are always so many delicious cakes on offer. With such a range, the only problem is which to choose. Had the braised brisket sandwich there on my most recent visit. It was divine and a good sized portion too. I will definitely be back!
