Description

Tucked into an unassuming strip-mall, this chef-driven Argentinian/Italian spot earns praise for bold, fresh flavors — from brick-oven pizza and empanadas to standout salads, short ribs and inventive seafood — plus an engaging bar and a personable chef. Cuisine and accommodations (gluten-free options, diet tweaks) impress, but atmosphere and service are uneven: industrial exterior, bare dining walls, an open-kitchen bustle, weak drinks and inconsistent portion sizes temper the charm. Worth a detour for adventurous diners despite rough edges.

Avoid going on Mondays; many of the main dishes we wanted were unavailable.

As a local Realtor, I enjoy finding restaurants to recommend to my clients for a pleasant dining experience with great food and an inviting atmosphere. Bella Maca features a straightforward menu with a nice selection of dishes. We started with the empanada appetizer, which came with a fresh chimichurri sauce that really enhanced the flavor. I ordered the Braised Beef with polenta, which I found very satisfying, while my wife had the Chimichurri Sandwich and said it was delicious. I highly recommend Bella Maca and look forward to returning to sample more items from the menu.

They entice you with elaborate menu descriptions, but the reality is quite different. The outside resembles an industrial strip mall made of sheet metal, the most upscale interior feature is bare drywall, the service is reminiscent of a casual diner like IHOP, the drinks are disappointingly weak, the portion sizes are lacking, and the piece of pie I received was the smallest I’ve ever encountered. I walked away not only feeling unsatisfied but also feeling deceived to the point that I feel the need to caution others.

As a local Realtor, I look for places to recommend to my clients for a nice night out with good food and a nice setting. Bella Maca offers an easy menu with a good variety. We had the empanada appetizer which was paired with a fresh chimicurri that really added nice flavor. I had the Braised Beef with polenta, which was good, and my wife had the Chimicurri Sandwhich, she said it was tasty. I recommend Bella Maca and will be back to try others things on the menu.

Had the house salad with warm polenta croutons, delicious. Then the mussels accompanied by a glass of the recommended red wine, again wonderful Meal type: Lunch
