Reviews - Bella Maca
Reviews summary
Tucked into an unassuming strip-mall, this chef-driven Argentinian/Italian spot earns praise for bold, fresh flavors — from brick-oven pizza and empanadas to standout salads, short ribs and inventive seafood — plus an engaging bar and a personable chef. Cuisine and accommodations (gluten-free options, diet tweaks) impress, but atmosphere and service are uneven: industrial exterior, bare dining walls, an open-kitchen bustle, weak drinks and inconsistent portion sizes temper the charm. Worth a detour for adventurous diners despite rough edges.

What Mel Stockwell dislikes about Bella Maca:
They entice you with elaborate menu descriptions, but the reality is quite different. The outside resembles an industrial strip mall made of sheet metal, the most upscale interior feature is bare drywall, the service is reminiscent of a casual diner like IHOP, the drinks are disappointingly weak, the portion sizes are lacking, and the piece of pie I received was the smallest I’ve ever encountered. I walked away not o... View all feedback.

As a local Realtor, I look for places to recommend to my clients for a nice night out with good food and a nice setting. Bella Maca offers an easy menu with a good variety. We had the empanada appetizer which was paired with a fresh chimicurri that really added nice flavor. I had the Braised Beef with polenta, which was good, and my wife had the Chimicurri Sandwhich, she said it was tasty. I recommend Bella Maca and will be back to try others things on the menu.
Had the house salad with warm polenta croutons, delicious. Then the mussels accompanied by a glass of the recommended red wine, again wonderful Meal type: Lunch
My husband and I have been to this restaurant twice now and the food is AMAZING. It’s a bit off the beaten path in an odd location, which means it’s not often busy, but don’t let that scare you away. Chef Bandt has a way with flavors. We’ve had the Empanadas, the Poor Man’s Steak, the Shrimp and Grits (off the menu), the house salad, and the Braised Short Ribs. I would eat every single one of those items again and also can’t wait to try something new. It seems off that some of these fancy dishes are served with fries, but for basic palates like mine, they’re a great balance to extremely rich entrees. Seriously so many flavors, so much color, and it’s all fantastic. Worth the drive!
Great food with a good atmosphere to go with it. The folks here are wonderful and always going out of their way to make sure everything is just right.

This restaurant is very charming and cozy. I tried the steak pincho and absolutely loved it. My partner ordered the steak chimichurri pizza, which was also delicious. The pickled salad was outstanding as well! I will definitely return to see if the surf and turf with Madagascar shrimp is available; it looked impressive. They also offer gluten-free pasta, which is great for anyone with Celiac disease. The staff and chef are incredibly friendly too.
Tucked away in Corinth, TX, Bella Maca offers an interesting hybrid of Argentinian/Italian dining in a comfortable and modern space. They offer a large a varied menu, leaning heavily into the Italian cuisine. The head chef has some extremely impressive credentials (I won't spoil here, ask when you dine! , and the dishes are quite tasty ... as well as AMPLE! I had the chicken parmigiana, and it was, unequivocally, the largest piece of chicken I have ever seen. Very juicy, with a lighter breading and a marinara that didn't overpower the dish. Others in our party had the Poor Man's steak with fries (perfectly cooked with a fried egg on top! , Chilean Sea Bass, also expertly prepared, and a steak pizza which was surprisingly huge. Full wine and bar service, friendly staff make this a worthy addition to North Texas.
I discovered this restaurant on Thanksgiving, and I was fortunate it was one of the few places open. The salmon was cooked to perfection—a high-quality filet with a crispy exterior that just melted in my mouth. The flavors were outstanding, definitely the best I've had in the area. The empanadas and Brussels sprouts were also incredible. The atmosphere felt very personal; the chef took our order, served our food, and even tended the bar when he wasn’t cooking. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely return!
Exceptional restaurant! We had a party of 17, and all of our meals were served within just 10 minutes of each other. Remarkably, there was only one chef working, even though the rest of the restaurant was full. Chef Bandt and his team did an amazing job, and we had a delightful experience. We will definitely be returning! ❤️
We echo the previous 5-star reviews!! For a late lunch, we had the calamari/shrimp appetizer. Tender calamari lightly coated with a seasoned breading came with two sauces, tartar and delicious tomato. The side salads were amazing. Perfect Caesar with polenta croutons. Yum!! But the house garden salad…omg. The tender spring lettuces with avocado, yellow grape tomatoes, goat cheese, purple onion, olives, fried artichoke hearts all cut into small pieces, all blending together so well with the house dressing. The lasagna was excellent, just like the perfect one we once had in France. The gluten free shrimp Alfredo pasta was amazing. Best gf noodle I’ve ever had. Cannoli with espresso ended our great meal. Then to top it off, we had a really enjoyable conversation with Walter, the chef. We’re so fortunate to have a high quality restaurant in our area. Bella Maca is a hidden gem and definitely a must try!!

Excellent concept and fantastic execution. This place brings an Argentinian twist to Italian cuisine. We tried the steak pizza, an empanada appetizer, a side of Brussels sprouts, and fettuccine. The pizza was outstanding, featuring a flavorful crust that was perfectly thick, complemented by a chimichurri sauce that makes you question whether it leans more Italian, Argentinian, or perhaps a delightful mix of both. It was delicious. While I had higher expectations for the empanadas, they were still enjoyable. The Brussels sprouts were prepared very well. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit with a lovely, open atmosphere.
