We decided to stop by for lunch on a whim and we're glad we did. The food was delicious and everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. The seafood platter was exceptional, so kudos to the chef working that afternoon. We sat in the bar area since we had our dog with us, and it was a lovely seating area.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a two-night break. The hotel was lovely and the staff were wonderful. The food at dinner and breakfast was good. I had a very comfortable stay and I definitely plan to return in the future.

The staff at the restaurant were welcoming and friendly. The dining room was very comfortable, and the food was of excellent quality and portion size. The service was top-notch, with the added bonus of hot food being served. The only downside was the distance from the car park to the hotel entrance for disabled drivers, but it is understandable why dedicated disabled spaces are not closer to the hotel. Overall, a stay at the Pennington is highly recommended, with plenty of activities in the surrounding area, such as the Steam Train.

Myself and my friend were given a warm welcome when we arrived for a meal at the Pennington Hotel on Bank Holiday Sunday. The decor is very nice, with a warm ambience and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had absolutely delicious meals and the prices were on a par for the area, but our meals were far superior to any other places we had tried whilst staying with our outdoor group at Wasdale YHA. We recommended the meals to members of our group and some booked for the following evening. They too were impressed.

Stayed here for 1 night following our wedding so 'Honeymoon ' nothing extra provided and room was basic. We booked dinner, bed breakfast for 1 night was over £245 Dinner we were unaware you only get £25 allowance so having three course you had to pay extra this needs to be made clearer as this is not good value package) service was slow in evening and breakfast although only 3 tables busy waited ages. Breakfast was tiny sausage, overdone bacon and tiny portion of beans and smallest egg I have ever seen very tight_ and 1 slice of toast each. Not good value and seems to be penny pinching.
