Started off with a pint of Carlsberg and carafe of white wine while we looked through the comprehensive menu. Lots of choice and some unusual items all reasonably priced. Opted for hot and sour soup, chicken and sweetcorn soup followed by the mixed starter platter, The ribs were delicious in a very tasty sauce, spring rolls looked home made and were delicious, as were the prawn toast. went for an evening meal with work colleagues, our order was quickly taken and the starters were quickly served then we had hot dishes placed at our settings however by the time the main course arrived the dishes were frozen we had to wait 35 minutes. The food was very good but we had ordered a banquet and we found the portions very small (if you are ordering a banquet make the order for 1 person more than there is).... View all feedback.
My partner just picked up a takeaway for us, but there is very little food in the container. All I ordered was egg fried rice, but it was cold, dry, and only half full.
I was very let down by the food at this restaurant. I couldn't taste any ginger in the ginger and spring onion dish, and the chicken was not good. The spring rolls were mostly pastry with very little filling. We were told this was a great place to eat, but we won't be returning. The food needs more flavor, it's not right to serve such low-quality dishes to the locals.
I always enjoy the food at Canton! My friends and I visit almost every week. The service is friendly and perfect for a sit-down meal.
Not what I was expecting. Drab interior with paper table cloths. Mains cost around £8.50 when combined with a good rice also at £8.50 I’d expect a little bit better on the decor details. The food was ok, no wow factor. When looking at the TP reviews my expectations where high, the reality was low. And on that, I’m resigned not to try the others if this is considered to be so good.
Service friendly. Food awful. Bland and tasteless reconstituted gloop! Cornflour, starch, gristle, fat, sugar! Not much else. Avoid at all costs!!
