Copake General Store

Copake General Store
4.5 / 5 (259 reviews)

Description

Nestled in Copake's town center, this charming country general store blends old-fashioned appeal with a curated selection of local groceries, Asian condiments, handcrafted treats, vegan options and addictive baked goods. Expect well-organized aisles, a coffee/tea station, ready-to-eat sandwiches and porch seating in summer, at slightly higher than supermarket prices. Many praise the food quality and unique pantry finds; service can vary, with some staff warm and others notably brusque, making visits feel hit-or-miss despite the store's strong food offerings.

I stopped by to pick up some food before heading out to the lake. The staff was friendly, and so were the other customers. The food was of good quality, too. It's a charming little shop with an old-fashioned feel.

My partner and I absolutely love this store for its wide selection of local products, well-organized layout, and friendly staff. They offer a simple coffee and tea station, local groceries, and ready-to-eat sandwiches and deli items. We particularly enjoy the variety of unique cooking condiments and spices from Asia, as we often incorporate them into our meals. It's wonderful to have a grocery store that stocks hard-to-find items. This place truly brings a 'cool' factor to Copake, adding diverse flavors to our community. Be sure to stop by and say hello to the owner, Seung—she's fantastic!

A very nice country store in the center of Copake. Clean and well organized. Food is very good. You can spend some time on the porch in the summer reading the paper and enjoying a sandwich.
