Aqui Es Texcoco
Description
An authentic, old-school Mexican spot earns praise for barbacoa tacos, lamb dishes, tortilla soup and traditional pulque (coconut is popular), with reasonable prices and hearty portions. Experiences vary: attentive, celebratory service and clean, roomy seating are noted, but guests also report slow or incorrect service, cold food served in disposable containers, and a run-down interior that needs renovation. Worth a visit for signature flavors if you prioritize authenticity over polish.

I went today to pick up some food, but the restaurant has finally closed down. It was only a matter of time before this happened. The place desperately needs renovations and a good cleaning. I wouldn't be surprised if the Health Department decided to shut them down for good. The atmosphere was unpleasant, and there were holes in the floor—just your typical rundown Mexican joint.
I really enjoy their barbacoa tacos and tortilla soup. However, I rated them 3 stars because the consomé is quite small, and the pulque doesn't taste good. I tried both the strawberry and the original flavors and wouldn’t recommend them.
I visited this restaurant in the evening, just two hours before closing time. One server was handling two large families, and she was truly impressive—she kept track of our order flawlessly. At the end of our meal, she even sang "Happy Birthday" to my wife, which was a lovely touch. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend it. Be sure to try their cheese appetizer; you definitely won’t regret it!
