Matt Daddy’s - Comanche
Matt Daddy’s
Description
Nestled in Comanche, Texas, this nostalgic small-town diner serves reliably tasty comfort food—standout burgers, fries, fluffy biscuits and classic breakfasts—in a clean, family-friendly Western setting. Staff are warm and knowledgeable, but the kitchen often seems short-handed, causing inconsistent or long waits and occasional lapses in etiquette. Prices feel fair for diner breakfasts but can seem high for some entrees. Best for casual travelers and families seeking familiar, well-executed fried favorites and burgers.

Stopped for breakfast. No complaints. It was standard diner style breakfast fare. Fluffy biscuits and probably frozen sausage patties. Coffee was good and friendly staff. My meal was less than $7 so I'm not complaining. Favorite place based on this one meal? No. Would I eat there for breakfast again? For sure.
Yummy. Friendly, prompt service. Family atmosphere. Fried food galore, but done right. Enjoyed the fried zucchini in particular along with freshly formed burgers.
I've been here several times, and the food is consistently good; however, the service can be a bit slow depending on the busy times. During my last three visits, though, the service was quite fast. I haven't had a bad patty melt yet—it's my favorite burger! The staff is always friendly, even on the slower days. Just be prepared for either fast or slow service, and enjoy your meal. The atmosphere is pleasant, too; you don’t feel cramped next to the next table, which allows for easy conversations and a fun experience without needing to shout to be heard!
Just had to get up and walk out. We ordered our food (easy things like omlet and oatmeal), then waited an hour for our food. When we asked for an ETA on food 2 waitresses got attitude and argued with us on how long we had been waiting, instead of just giving us an estimate. We still waited. Last straw was seeing our waitress walk to the front and start talking about us to the hostess at the front, watching them laugh and point at us. Based on reviews here on quality of food I'm glad we left. We asked for owner info and were told the owner was cooking in the back. This place needs some etiquette. Big time.
