Michelin awards two stars to only 86 restaurants in all of France. The next step is the coveted three stars, the highest accolade from Michelin that only two dozen or so restaurants receive. Thus, you can consider JY'S, a Michelin two-star venue, one of the finest tables in France and it well deserves its rating. The service is impeccable, the dishes are surprising and innovative without being pretentious, and the setting is bucolic even though it is in the center of the Petite Venise section of Colmar. Don't let the high rating scare you away. The prices are modest for an establishment of this caliber and the 47 euro lunch is an absolute bargain. Reservations are, of course, a MUST.
