The new owners plan to... read more As confirmed by the friendly staff member at the counter this morning, only the fruitcake portion of this establishment is closing down. The new owners plan to keep the front bakery running, which was open today. While it's sad to see a historic local business go, it's comforting to know that their other baked goods will still be available. I managed to grab some pinecone pastries, even though it was past eleven, a time when they usually sell out early in the day. Perhaps the misunderstanding about the business closing led to fewer customers than normal this morning. If you were under that impression, I suggest giving them another visit. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a warm pinecone pastry with your morning coffee, and their glazed donuts are far superior to those from Dunkin Donuts.
