We had an evening meal this time but have visited for lunch and booked and held a party and a wake at different times. I just wish the chairs were more comfortable!

The Hit or Miss has the perfect setting for a country pub:lovely location and the advantage of easy parking.Comfortable inside with good spacing of tables allowing one actually to hear the conversation of dining companions! The pub has a lovely rural setting yet is only a short drive from Amersham. Overall a classic English pub with good food and in a super rural setting. As a regular patron of Pubs in the Chilterns over many years,I would say the Hit or Miss deserves a top billing.

However, my only issue was that the bread used for the sandwiches was too thick, making it difficult to take a bite. I believe most people prefer thinner bread for sandwiches.
