The food is delicious and well presented. The service is excellent and attentive. The restaurant and facilities and space between tables is good. We had an evening meal this time but have visited for lunch and booked and held a party and a wake at different times. I just wish the chairs were more comfortable!
The food was superb, the service was excellent a thoroughly nice lunch! Nicely spaced tables, clean and genuinely could not find fault with anything.
There was a good choice on the menu. The food was excellent:well cooked and well presented and hot. The service was also impeccable:friendly and efficient. The Hit or Miss has the perfect setting for a country pub:lovely location and the advantage of easy parking.Comfortable inside with good spacing of tables allowing one actually to hear the conversation of dining companions! The pub has a lovely rural setting yet is only a short drive from Amersham. Overall a classic English pub with good food and in a super rural setting. As a regular patron of Pubs in the Chilterns over many years,I would say the Hit or Miss deserves a top billing.
I recently dined at this pub for lunch. The ambiance was great, the staff were friendly and attentive. However, my only issue was that the bread used for the sandwiches was too thick, making it difficult to take a bite. I believe most people prefer thinner bread for sandwiches.
