Kapitan
Description
**Kapitan: A Mixed Bag of Authentic Malaysian Fare**
Kapitan offers a mix of authentic Malaysian cuisine that sparks nostalgia for many diners, featuring highlights such as beef rendang and kaya toast. The menu, while creative, faces scrutiny over pricing and inconsistent service, with reports of indifference from staff tarnishing some experiences. The spacious ambiance can feel empty, and challenges in staffing are evident. However, for those seeking genuine flavors, dishes like laksa and Mamyee pork belly shine, complemented by friendly service during peak times. While some elements may disappoint, there remains a strong appeal for fans of Malaysian flavors in this culinary gem.

Ordered for delivery on a cold February night everything came fast and hot, and the food was incredible. We got a couple of satays, the nasi lemak, and a few curry dishes, and the hokkien noodles. Well spiced and super flavorful with generous portions, perfect for a winter night. Highly recommend, we’ll be back. Food: 5 Service: 5
Good Malaysian roti, chicken and shrimps. We got the five spice chicken which was very similar to popcorn chicken. We also got the lamb I think. Very spicy and flavorful place, they also had good drinks.
The staff and location are great but unfortunately my food just wasn't very good. The kapitan chicken was decent but my mee goreng was pretty bad. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
We were here for dinner. Food was very decent. We liked the Nasi Lemak Kapilan Chicken. Rojak merah was ok. Nyonya curry seafood gravy was awesome. We did not get much of fish and shrimp being with shell was little bit tough on a curry( esp it ispricy) Drinks were fine esp roof of the loom. Drinks were custom made and little bit pricy Lemon grass ginger martini
We drive by this restaurant all the time not realizing it was even a restaurant as the location has historically been a bar. A neighbor recommended it and we're usually skeptical to try new places, but this did not disappoint! We ordered the Lobak (friedpork) to start and that was very flavorful. We ordered 3 entrees to share between two of us for variety the Nyonya Curry LaksaLemak, Mee Goreng, and the Soft Shell Crab Fried Rice. It was all good, but the SoftShell Crab Fried Rice stood out the most forus. It was not your typical salty soy sauce fried rice. In addition to the soft shell crab, there was crab meat mixed into thefried rice. Would definitely recommend this place. We'll be back with friends to try more of the menu.
