The brisket was nice juicy and flavorful. On the other hand the pulled pork was lacking, tasted a little old. Coleslaw and macaroni and cheese were good. The cornbread needed some butter it was really dry. View all feedback.
What Laura A doesn't like about Smoque Bbq:
After years of not visiting this BBQ restaurant, we decided to go back with friends. My husband and I shared a full baby back ribs platter, a side order of brisket, slaw, bbq beans and mac cheese. The ribs were dry and the sliced brisket had too much fat and little meat. My husband thought that the ribs were from the day before and had been reheated. The only way to eat them was with lots of bbq sauce. We were disapp... View all feedback.
The BBQ here was hands down the best I've ever had. We tried the brisket and baby back ribs, and both were absolutely fantastic. Plus, the sides were just as delicious. The coleslaw was fresh and crispy, the fries were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of salt, and the mac cheese was amazing too.
Now this place has become one of our spots! Definitely recommend! We were soo full when we left we had to take a nap after!!
I think the previous reviews were really spot on for this restaurant. We had an excellent dinner there, and it is very close to where we stayed near the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier. The food was tasty, and the service was exceptionally friendly and warm. It's a great combination of a modern, upscale setting with good down home BBQ dishes and some celebrity pics on the walls (and reasonable prices). We had pork ribs and sides which were tasty. Not sure all the hoopla in prior reviews about the Cesar salad is warranted but man oh man, order the cornbread that was amazing!
We used their delivery app, it went smoothly. The brisket was the best; best we ever had. This is a bookmark to myself. Always order Smoque BBQ when in Chicago.
Not the largest of places, but it is very busy. I had read it was one of the best BBQs in Chicago. I ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of Baked Beans $15) plus added a 1/4 slab of Baby Back Ribs $8). They then assign a table. The sandwich was pilled high with pulled pork and a very good bun. The pork was very tender and a wonderful full flavor. The baked beans were very good with bits of brisket in it. The ribs were excellent with a really nice char on them. The meat definitely fell off the bone and full of great flavor. Overall a 5 star review. I definitely see why they are so popular. Would I return? Absolutely.
