This restaurant is a convenient spot for Sichuan cuisine on the north side. Unfortunately, it seems to have declined since its opening; the food is now just okay, lacking the consistency and wow factor it once had. However, there are still some solid dishes to enjoy. I particularly like the eggplant and the golden buns. View all feedback.
What Kayla Mazur doesn't like about Chengdu Aroma:
Came in around dinner time, while they were still very much open. There were only 3 tables that were seated and the worker shooed us out saying it’s too busy and they’re not taking anymore dine-ins… then proceeded to take a tables order who had just sat down.Extremely rude. View all feedback.
This place is amazing. Typically I only get Chinese food in Chicago from Orange Garden because that place is incredible and it's been there since 1932, BUT we decided to go out on a limb and try this place and WOW I was actually BLOWN away. Flavorful, the sesame chicken didn't have an overwhelming amount of batter on it like some places do, everything was flavorful, egg rolls were amazing, the fried rice was SO TASTY.... I might have two favorite Chinese places in the city now!!!! HECK YES. I will be back!

Excellent hot pot. You won't find a hotter pot in this city.

Listen; I don't get over to Wrigleyville often, but I'mma clearly need to change that. I've been sleeping on these dudes: Everything came right out of the wok or the fryer and was still popping when it made it to the table--they are not messing around. Started to fret about where we'd put it all, but we only left with ONE to-go box. Wear your fat pants to this place, for sure. Crispy Chengdu Dry Chili Chicken would raise the dead, and my husband is gonna have to order his own Spicy Wontons next time--I will not be in a sharing mood. Not pictured: Crab Rangoon that we inhaled too fast, and a blurry af pic of the Singapore Noodles I was in a RUSH to get into. Wonder if they'd let me move in...
