Love holiday decorations at the Lobby. Children love all the decorations and festive. We were expecting Santa to be there. Please have parties for kids with Santa that is affordable for all. Thanks!! View all feedback.
What JimJ doesn't like about The Lobby:
This was our third time dining at the Lobby. Our first experience in Oct '23 was outstanding (food, service, ambiance, live music, etc) which is why we returned for a holiday dinner with another couple in early December that was disastrous. But, we figured that perhaps they were having an off night, so tried it again on New Years. Although the food, like the Dec visit, was again average (warm lattes and soup not hot)... The best restaurant I have ever known, the food is spectacular, the service is phenomenal, and the place is very beautiful... I want to thank all the staff for all the good service, I really enjoyed everything
Service was poor. Restaurant understaffed. Sat for 25 minutes before anyone approached us. Cocktails were warm, bread rolls cold and food just average. Surprising and disappointing. (Decorations for the holidays were gorgeous.
Not the Peninsula it used to be. Chicken nuggets were dry like frozen nuggets. Fish and chips tasteless. Burger sad sad looking burger. Server did not even ask what tea we wanted. We have been dining at the Peninsula for more than a decade. It was our 2nd kitchen. Standards have fallen and quality of food sub par for a 5 star hotel. What a disappointment.

Although the food, like the Dec visit, was again average (warm lattes and soup not hot), the carpet looked as if it wasn 't vacuumed in days, considering all the food debris that was present and the service was sub standard. Not at all what one would expect from the Peninsula.
Worst service I've ever experienced, took our waitress 20 minutes to greet us and another 20 to take order and brought our bill and never came back to run a card we had to bring to hostess.
