Made a reservation on a Saturday night for my girlfriend and I to celebrate her birthday. What I had thought was an exclusive, elegant “sushi boutique” was actually an average hotel restaurant. Walked in and caught the hostess off guard because they don't know if anyone who walks in is a hotel guest or there for a dinner reservation. Excused her from scrolling her phone to seat us. There's 1 out of a dozen or so tables filled. They seat us directly next to the other table where an obnoxious woman was talking too loud for us to enjoy. We asked to move across to the other side-only to be starred down by the casual bartender, probably judging my GF's classy, snakeskin heels. The bartender would not stop looking at us, eavesdropping our raised glass toast to start our expectedly phenomenal dinner. The hostess is also our waitress. She pronounced nigiri, NY-GEE-REE. The $17 chardonnay was decent. We split the tasting menu and got the Hamachi appetizer and added a signature maki roll. The food was good, nothing crazy. Overall, decent food. Poor restaurant location in the hotel lobby. Sub par service. Go to sushi-san instead.
Definitely recommend this place for a date night! The ambiance and music is a vibe with the exception if the future Grammt award winning “We dont talk about Bruno” starting to play and suddenly was switched off. Kate is a gem hope she is your waitress! Ordered Loved: UZUME (drink) Kisshoten (drink) Farmer’s market tempura 1244 Boutique Chicago Spicy Scallop
We were excited to try out this restaurant after seeing it on social media. We were entertaining friends from out of town and were sadly disappointed. Service was slow and inattentive. There seemed to only be two people working. Food was sub-par, and we did not end up finishing what we were served. The textures of some of the fish/seafood were off-putting. The cocktails and shishito peppers were great. The vibe of the restaurant is also nice.
Trendy decor and very attentive service. Loved the Ebisu cocktail and 12:44 Boutique roll.
Beautiful, intimate experience at the newly opened Sushi Boutique What we ordered: Edamame, Salmon Tuna Tartare, Lake Shore Drive Maki, Miso Black Cod skewers, First Impression hand rolls Highly recommend: Salmon Tuna tartare Lake Shore Drive Maki Edamame and black cod were slightly disappointing
