The quesadilla(carna asada) here is the best we have ever had. Super cheesy, not shy on meat, the tortilla has an authentic taste. We tried the pastor tacos as well very good, plenty of meat and homemade corn tortilla. Also had our first Papusa, it blew my mind on how good it was. Was not disappointed at all. Located in the back of shell station took us ten minutes for hot fresh food couldn't ask for better. We are r... View all feedback.
What drwatson32 doesn't like about El Tropico:
This place was fine for a night. The suite was nice and roomy. Checkin staff was helpful and quick to get us towels for the pool and washcloths for our room. The breakfast area was large with a few hot options. I rated the place a three because the 24 hour coffee was not hot at checkin and the pool and room could use some updates. I would still say this is a good choice for a night if you plan to visit local attracti... View all feedback.

Very lovely Hotel, only a few miles from Monticello. Rooms were very nice and spacious and clean. Also I would like to note, I was very grateful that the hotel had hot water, because a lot of these hotels with Choice Hotels, they turn off the boiler and you don't get hot water till the morning , so I was grateful about that. And also they had a very nice breakfast buffet with eggs included. Highly recommend this hotel for anybody coming in the area to see Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.
This hotel does the job. It is not a 5 star hotel, but I give it 5 stars for being a great 3 star hotel. The staff is freindly, helpful, and available. The rooms are comfortable with a little more than the basics (refrigerator, coffee machine, and more , yet everything is a little worn. It meets basic needs exceedingly well for a couple of nights. Me, I do not enjoy staying in motels and I would go crazy if I had to stay a week even a 4 star non resort hotel. The place is clean and feels safe. The pool is decent with an older hot tub. The continental breakfast is as expected. Good for a morning or two. The hot waffle machine is a bit of a treat for me, I add bananas ; I comfortably recommend this as a good, clean, basic place to stay, but do not expect 5 star hotel amenities, but then agian, it is well priced for what it is. Hope this helps.
This property is well maintained. The room in general and bed specifically we’re comfortable. Even with being on a main road it is a quiet hotel. The staff are professional and friendly. There are gas stations immediately nearby. Touristy places are short drives away.
This is a basic good room at a good price. Everything clean and friendly. Very good shower, comfortable bed, secure and quiet. Breakfast was good with fresh cooked scrambled eggs. Could have some fruit but coffee was very good. Wegmans right across the street and the Timberwood Taphouse has good food and great beer selection.
