My favorite place in Charlottesville. The dinner was excellent, and I highly recommend the gnocchi, tagliatelle, and scallops. These are all appetizers but were the perfect amount for a party of two. Every detail was attended to, the service was attentive, and they were quick to suggest restaurant favorites.
We had an amazing five-star dining experience from beginning to end! Our table had a perfect view of the iconic marquee from the window on the third floor. The restaurant is located in a cool, historic building and serves delicious French-inspired dishes with a great selection of wines. The New York strip steak was a standout dish, with caramelized shallots and a peppercorn-black truffle demi-glace that melted in our mouths. The service was attentive and top-notch.
The food was consistently delicious, the service was very good, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant. Upon entering, you are greeted by a wood stove emitting a fragrant aroma. The natural heat and the scent of wood permeate throughout the space. The only downside was the uncomfortable chairs. The scallops were barely warm and cool inside. The bread served was plain with plain butter, adding some herbs to the butter would greatly enhance the dish.
Favorite spot in Charlottesville. Dinner was superb, highly recommend the gnocchi, tagliatelle, and scallops. These are all starters but was the prefect amount for a party of two. Every detail was taken care of, service was attentive and quick tosuggest restaurant favorites.
A five-star dining experience from start to finish! We had the best seat in the house (in my opinion) at the window on the third floor overlooking its iconic marquee. Cool, old building serving French-inspired fare with an impressive wine list and attentiveservice. The New York strip is a must! It melts in your mouth with its caramelized shallots and peppercorn-black truffledemi-glace.
