Very good place to get Thai basil fried rice. The service was great. I got it to go and I ordered in person. It was right at lunchtime but they were able to take my order right away. I waited around 15 minutes and it was well worth the wait. I I look forward to coming back.Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What Tally Saturne doesn't like about Chimm Thai Southeast Asian:
My coworkers and I ordered over $200 worth of food for lunch. The only problem was the pad Thai. I explained that it was not right, when I went to exchanged the food. (Never had this experience) The girl DEMANDED to know what was the reason I was exchanging. I said it was not right 3 times. That wasn?t good enough. I finally stated the PAD THAI tAsted funny. Small restaurant but has outside seating on nice day, raining when we went. No fried rolls which was disappointing. Good dumplings made like SIU MAI. Good fried rice. Pad Thai was bland, red sauce. Very friendly service and cook. May return for rice and to try Thai rolls. Also for Vietnamese food.Food: 4/5
NO MILITARY DISCOUNTFood was very very good. The satay was very flavorful with a great peanut sauce. I enjoyed the pad Thai chicken with only a level 1 spice. The pork belly stole the show! Loved the flavor and the pork was cooked to perfection!Overall a very good experience.
This has become our go-to place when traveling past Charlottesville. The food has been incredible every time.I've gotten the Drunken Noodle, and the serving is always enough to get two meals out of it. Flavor and spread of ingredients are great.Food: 5/5
If I could give 6 stars for service, I absolutely would. Not only is this the best Thai restaurant in town (with so many *clearly* marked vegan and gluten-free options), they have an exceptional staff who really go above and beyond. One time recently when I placed a to-go order, I had an emergency come up and completely forgot about my order. They texted me to let me know they were closing, then when I didn 't respond, they texted me again to let me know they had wrapped my food up (to keep it dry, it was raining) and put it in a safe place on their patio for me to pick up when I could. When I finally saw their texts, I responded to apologize and explain, and then they called me to make sure I was okay and asked if one of them could drop the food off to me on their way home (insert face holding back tears emoji here). Even if the food was terrible (which it absolutely is not; the Panang Curry, Fresh Rolls, and Thai Fried Rice are especially delicious), I would still eat here because they people that work here are so darn sweet. Thanks for reading, and hug/high-five your server today.
