What User doesn't like about Public Fish Oyster:
the wine selection has changed and is missing. the waitress was not so well visited in the weeps available. Overall, I think it lost a few steps. what is one of my four “Gate to” restaurants in Charlottesville. that has changed. I would recommend a friend with qualification. View all feedback.
I cant say enough about the place. The food is excellent and they have the best bourbon selection Ive seen in the area. They even carry Old Forester Birthday. This place has fabulous seafood. Many choices of fresh oysters and crab cakes are spot on. Tim the oyster shucker is so friendly and great respectful customer service along with Dan the bar tender. Only draw back is Happy Hour starts at 4:00 and only at bar seating, so if you stand in line when they unlock the doors at 4:00 you might get lucky as there is only 8 chairs.
Busy place with great wine, beer, and cocktail options. You go for the seafood and won't be disappointed. Popular so make reservations even on week nights. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Food was excellent. Same with Service. We enjoy watching food prep. We had seats near the bar. The oyster prep wasn't great, but the bar tender was excellent.
