Went there for a company function. They placed all of us in a spacious area. Drinks were well made. Food was well prepared. Staff was friendly and helpful. The burger option was a little overcooked and dry. The chicken parm needed a little favor. The chicken was tender and juicy. What Global Librarian doesn't like about Axel's Chanhassen:
We have been eating at Axel’s for years. It has always been a family favorite. We have now been here three times since they were purchased by the new owners and we all agreed we were done. The food is greasy and bland. Even the French Onion soup was greasy! The meals arrived cold, dry and overcooked. And the famous popovers? They now charge you for them and they were rubbery and tough. Sad to see this. View all feedback.

My boy friend and I dined here after a whirlwind tour of Paisley Park and thrifting at Goodwill in Chan. I must say that as a girl in the south, I had never had Wall eye, so I was excited! We had a wonderful, gracious server who greeted us promptly. I was not familiar with the pop overs, but she and my better half described them to me. They were lovely as described. One serving of them was enough between us. We shared two salads. One house, one caesar, and a side of the bull bites. They were absolutely delightful. They had 2 dipping sauces which were the homemade horse radish and the bernaisse. We thoroughly enjoyed those and would recommend them! Then, of course we ordered the parmessean crusted wall eye and split that. The piece du resistance was definitely the Bailey's cake. We were hoping to have the apple cake with Ice cream and caramel sauce. But what an incredible dessert this was . Top notch for sure! Our server was as well . 5 star ? service, food and atmosphere! I can see why my better half raved about this place for sure! We definitely intend upon returning here. We saw the ad for Mother's Day brunch . I live in SC. If Mom visits here for a special occasion, we will no doubt bring her and Dad here ! Vegetarian options: Salads Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.

My mother and I’s go to lunch spot. Currently transitioning to Moe’s Charhouse and they did take some favorites off the menu, but everything was still great last time we went. I haven’t tried anything I don’t like here yet. The Caesar salad is crazy good, idk what the do to the dressing and croutons but do please carry on.
It is a nice place to eat and relax. Delicious food. It's not a bargain restaurant but is fairly priced for the quality. Note: changing names soon to Moe's American Restaurant.
