Was Anonym at Mitchell's a mag?
One of my favorite restaurants in Ireland. The food is wonderfully fresh, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are delightful, especially Roland, who makes you feel right at home. We always make sure to visit whenever we're in town visiting family. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Mitchell's:
Mitchell’s caters mainly to tourists and passersby. The food is quick and flavorful. However, I’m not a fan of the panko breadcrumbs on the fish and chips or the UHT milk used in the coffees. View all feedback.

We just ate lunch. Excellent service, and great food. Husband ordered clams and I had Fish cakes. Both were delicious. Presentation was awesome. One of the best meals we had in Clifden. Would eat there again.
Not sure, but this is probably the best restaurant in Clifden. We had excellent food and price is in the average. Staff is very king.
Our dining experience at Mitchell's was fairly ordinary and didn't fully meet the high expectations set by the positive online reviews. Although the restaurant's location on Market Street is convenient and the service was satisfactory, we ultimately felt somewhat disappointed.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at this seafood restaurant in Clifden. We strongly recommend it!
Our dining experience at Mitchell's was exceptional. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Our server was attentive and friendly, making the meal truly memorable. The service was prompt but relaxed, giving us the perfect atmosphere to enjoy our time.

As another reviewer noted, the service here seemed rushed. We began with delicious baked oysters topped with parmesan and pâté, served with sides. However, my scallop entrée was overcooked and dry, while the others were sadly soft and soggy. The scallops lacked their typical rich flavor, and the sauce didn’t enhance the dish. My partner’s duck confit was dry as well. Overall, we did not experience the exceptional meal that others have praised and that drew us to this restaurant.
Excellent seafood offering a wide selection of fish and cooking styles. However, the dishes sometimes come across as repetitive and occasionally lack refinement, particularly in the sauces. The service is flawless but a little hurried, suggesting a desire to turn tables promptly. The ambiance is enjoyable, with a warm welcome. Prices are somewhat steep, beginning at about 25 euros per dish.
The dining experience was truly exceptional! The heke was the best I've ever tasted, and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the mussels. If it were possible, I would dine here every single day!
Mitchell's offers a diverse menu that blends seafood and raw fish cooked together on one tray, providing a fresh twist on traditional French seafood dishes. The drink menu boasts a solid variety, including several beer choices. While the prices are on the higher side, the oyster platter, combined with excellent service and welcoming hospitality, makes it well worth it. Overall, dining at Mitchell's was an outstanding experience.
