Ultima sera della vacanza, con una gran voglia di ciccia alla griglia ci dirigiamo verso Calvi, abbiamo visto poco convinti l'offerta del lungo porto, e poi mi sono ricordata di questo posto un po' "fuori" dalla rotta turistica, si trova oltre la torre all'interno del porto. It was good, but nothing special for the price they pay. the steak was not grilled medium and the waiter took our reception before we even checked whether everything was in order.
My wife and I visited this restaurant for an evening meal during our holiday in Corsica. It's a quirky-looking place, tucked away past the Tour du Sel, away from the main part of the marina front. Unfortunately we were let down by poor service from...the mystifyingly grumpy manager, and also by the food pizza is my absolute favourite food so I always seek out pizza restaurants when I travel, but this was by far the worst pizza I had during my stay in Corsica. The wood-fired oven looked very promising and indeed the four-cheese pizza that I was served looked very appetising, but it had bizarrely almost no flavour, the main problem being the cheap sauce on the base. Also, the olives still had their stones in them. Who the heck serves olives on pizzas with the stones still in them? I could easily have chipped a tooth if I'd bit down on one.
This quirky wooden fronted chalet is found down on the quayside inside the port (not the marina so the view may be the sea or a large ship). There are a few tables outside but it's lovely inside with rustic wooden tables, chairs and tablecloths...(if you need somewhere to get out of the wind). The main menu available is pizza but there are also choices of brochettes and other cooked meats including a cote de beef for people at Euros (desert at the whim of the chef). The hot food is cooked in a huge open wooden oven.

Endroit original à l'écart du brouhaha du port ou l'on peut apprécier de très bonne pizza. Mais Vue sur le parking..
