Stopped for lunch on our way home from a few days camping in the mid north. Genuine historic pub. Decor is a bit dated and it's a bit run down but the staff are very hospitable and friendly. Food was great. Took a while to arrive but it was busy which is a great thing to see in a small country town. View all feedback.

Had to find staff to place a lunch order after a long wait. Rang the bell several times and two different diners went in opposite directions to find someone so we could order. One entered the actual kitchen after heavy footsteps on the passage way went unheard. The meal wasn't up to the standard we'd received on previous visits. Not a cheap lunch which didn't meet our standards. View all feedback.
Visited The Royal Exchange Hotel Saturday night. After a couple quiet drinks celebrating my birthday with my mother in law and friends I was approached by a local woman who began verbally abusing me. Instead of asking the local woman, the aggressor, to leave the owner and staff screamed at me and my group to leave. Please becareful attending this hotel or the Commercial Hotel in Burra as the owner has both hotels. Stay Away from these businesses unless you enjoy being abused, verbally abused or assaulted.
Fantastic meal plenty on the plate all tasted great and excellent friendly service. Iwould Highly recommend it
We had dinner there last night. I ordered the beef snitzel with prawn cheese topping and garlic sauce. It was so delicious. My son had the steak with creamy garlic sauce and mum had lamb shank. All our meals were superb. The salad bar was generous with a good variety of salad to choose from. They have a well enclosed beer garden with a sand pit and a little play area for the kids. Our fur baby was welcomed as well. Warm and friendly service. The price of food were very reasonable too. Will definitely visit again.
Great food .. all fresh vegies and meat dishes. fresh small salad bar. Great value ... staff friendly. Had to nights of yummy food. I can honestly say this is the nest pub meal I have ever had and I have eaten in many.
A great country pub. Now even better with new owners, Ian and Julie. Meals have always been delicious, and the servings very generous. And now there's a new self serve salad bar, for all meals, even the $12 lunchtime specials! Schnitzels, Fish, Lamb Shanks, Pork Ribs, Pasta they are all good! Rooms are basic, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Fresh paint, furnishings/linen. There's tea/coffee, microwave and fridge in shared kitchen.
