The only odd moment was when the schnitzel came with veggies instead of chips, as requested, and we were told this might incur an additional charge of $1. It seemed unnecessary to mention such a small amount—it really didn’t seem worth bringing up at all. I don't even recall if we were charged for it, as it's such a minor sum that it didn't register with me. Overall, we will definitely be returning. Kudos to the staff for their attentive service and to the Chef for making such a significant improvement to the food.
Simple well maintained pub complex set up with a recently built ~50 seat enclosed beer garden attached to a vintage two storey hotel with cafe next door and very pleasant decor throughout. The big screen in the beer garden is good for sports, and I've seen footy and soccer displayed. There's also a refined restaurant in the original building, something I'd like to do in the near future if I can find a good reason. Staff are friendly and the selection of tap drinks is good but they recently underwent some changes, removing some of their more special choices. Those choices weren't delivering in terms of sales I guess. I understand there's accommodation upstairs, and I've been told that you can view before booking. Covid might have changed that temporarily, but I like the idea of a small collection of well maintained rooms. The seating out the front of the cafe is wooden picnic style with umbrellas that shade mostly in the middle of the day, but if you get it just right with the sun setting and a gentle breeze blowing through, it can be very nice indeed. It was my regular for a long time and my situation changed some time ago. Now I'm meeting a friend there regularly and even if we change the arrangement I think I'll just keep going there regardless, it's a good place to chill.
I've visited this place a few times over the years, and I've always had a good experience. While the food isn't particularly outstanding, I do think the portion sizes could be slightly larger. However, the chips are consistently excellent—crispy and just the right amount of salt, just as they should be! The quiz night on Mondays is a fun addition, and during the day, the pavilion makes for a pleasant spot to relax. Surprisingly, the coffee is quite good as well. Overall, it's a charming pub in the eastern suburbs, with a lovely atmosphere and a decent menu. I'll definitely return, especially for quiz night on Mondays!
We came to the Pavilion for dinner for my daughters birthday. We had a booking for 12. The staff were great, very accommodating. We couldn't fault the pizza's in fact the bases were one of the best we have had. The only feedback I could give is that the fish and chips took some time to come out which meant that one person was left waiting for dinner while others were eating the pizza. I would visit again based on my experience.
Have not been to The Feathers Hotel in year's!! Amazing, we had lunch in the Pavilion restaurant. It was a cool day but can imagine the blinds up and the atmosphere would be excellent. Great food, professional staff and a good feel to the hotel. Certainly will be going back. Cheer's
