If you can snag a reservation at this restaurant, it’s a must-visit! The iconic ricotta toast is simply amazing, and honestly, you should try all the pasta dishes—they're all fantastic. We also ordered the marinated leeks as our second appetizer, which were delicious. The Florentine Steak is quite large, definitely enough for two, but we didn’t want to miss out on anything, so we decided to order it anyway. And to to... View all feedback.
What Jade Li doesn't like about Misi:
while the restaurant is stunning and definitely has the potential to be great, the dishes fell flat. the ricotta toast was delicious but I wasn?t wowed by the ramps that accompanied them. the white asparagus and the fennel apple salad were the best dishes we tried? the swiss chard was very salty did not have a whole lot of other flavors. in the pastas, the best by far was the ricotta ravioli? a little burst of goodne... We waited a month for this reservation The restaurant itself is so nice vibey, wine is good but the food overhyped
A restaurant worth the hype! Very polite staff and tasty apps and pasta! The only things that I think should be improved are: there are no gluten free main dish options apart from a big steak dish that should be shared among 3 people. They should explore adding a couple gluten free dishes for main course or having gluten free pasta available. This is important. Timely arrival of pastas for all guests. Our second pasta dish arrived very late (20 min after the first pasta was served) and this was an awkward delay. We were one of the first tables to be seated at 5pm so this delay was not very appreciated.
Misi is pasta (and literally everything else) done right. Immediately upon entering, you're enveloped in a special kind of energy...the kind of buzz and excitement where you feel like you're in the presence of something special about to happen. And that something special comes in the form of ricotta toast and seasonal pastas. You've probably seen the ricotta toast everywhere, and I'm here to tell you that YES it tastes as rich and luscious as it looks. The accompanying mushrooms add the perfect amount of acidity, and the perfectly crunchy/chewy toast brings it all together. Pasta-wise, the bucatini was our favorite. The savory nduja paired excellently with the pecorino in the dish that kept on giving. The sheep's milk ricotta occhi is good as well, and the corzetti was simply a fun pasta type we've never tried before. And my oh my, don't even get me started on the pistachio gelato...BEST pistachio gelato I've had in my life. If you enjoy a strong pistachio flavor (nut chunks included), you must get this. Come to Misi. Just do it.
The appetizers were delicious, but pasta was very underwhelming. In particular, the spinach tortellini tasted solely of butter and was swimming in a sea of burnt butter that was upsetting to look at. The bucatini lacked any sausage and was an underwhelming plate of tomato sauce and seemingly fresh pasta. Unfortunately the wine pours were smaller than I’ve ever seen at a New York restaurant, disappointing when you factor in the price at $21 a glass. The meal was saved by appetizers and service which was warm and helpful.
We had great pasta dish the cocktail wasn’t that impressing but great service
