Our dinner was lovely! Pierogi, tripe soup, krokiety, barszcz, and much more. Delicious Polish food that is explained in English, so you do not have to be Polish to enjoy a meal there. Great choices of Polish drinks as well. Restaurant is very well priced with big portions. Ask about the Polish market days that occur twice a month-definitely worth going to. Huge variety of homemade Polish food and lots of other Polis... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Polonia:
My mate and I are used to German schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), which has crispy crackling on the meat. The Polish pork knuckle (golonka) is apparently not always prepared this way, so our disappointment in this is down to our own ignorance. The meat was fall-off-the-bone and tasty, but perhaps a little over-cooked. It was accompanied by bígos and potato wedges, which is a move away from the traditional red cabbage and... The restaurant has recently undergone renovations, with a refreshed decor. While there are still some areas that need improvement, overall it is progressing nicely. Some of the dishes may have declined slightly in quality, but the traditional Polish dishes remain delicious. The standout feature is the bar, which offers a great selection of beers and vodka. If you have never tried Polish food before, I would highly recommend giving this place a try.
I was looking for some European cuisine and stumbled upon this Polish Club. I have to say, the food tasted just like it should. Coming from the Czech Republic, I am familiar with these dishes and I must say, this place serves some of the best food in Brisbane. I ordered the tripe soup and beef goulash, both of which were perfect. I dined with my partner and another couple, and everyone left very satisfied. We will definitely be returning.
During our Friday lunch visit, we tried traditional dishes like tripe soup, Polish cabbage roll, beef goulash, meat dumplings, and pork schnitzel, accompanied by a Zywiec beer. The restaurant's setting is simple and clean, with a vibe reminiscent of a communist workers club. The tripe soup was flavorful and hearty, while the beef goulash and gnocchi disappointed with their lack of seasoning and tough beef. The cabbage roll was generous and tasty, although it could have used more seasoning in the filling. The meat dumplings were well-presented but slightly dry, and the pork schnitzel was a standout dish that left us smiling. Service was friendly and helpful, with staff willing to explain menu items. The Polish Market Day downstairs offered a variety of traditional sweets, groceries, and cured meats that were a hit with everyone lining up. Special menu items like pork knuckle on Friday nights and specialty Polish beers are worth a try. Overall, the Polish Club offers a nostalgic dining experience with a range of traditional Polish dishes and a friendly atmosphere. Don't miss out on their special market days for unique Polish delicacies at great prices. Check their website for more information on upcoming events.
Now this place is interesting. It's like the German club 20 years ago without the band and back room.<br/ <br/ Food is pretty much the same- I had fish and chips which were really cheap, kind of cheap tasting but I think it was under ten bucks. Everyone else got the meaty dishes and loved them. <br/ <br/ They also do great vodka. They kind of payed us out (in a good jokey way) for getting shots of vodka and shotting rather than sipping. The staff were really cool. <br/ <br/ It had a friendly vibe- like most people were regulars. It's close to me, I had a genuinely good time but I also had great company. Make sure you have great company.
Easily the best Polish food in Milton and possibly the entire inner West. <br/ <br/ No frills decor but the best cheesy sausages and other tasty treats to satisfy anyone who enjoys fine Eastern European fare.
