Feedback
Malt restaurant offers a high-quality dining experience with a varied range of dishes. The starters, such as the focaccia bread and BBQ octopus, were delicious, with the Duck and Beef cheek mains receiving high praise for their preparation. However, some diners expressed disappointment in the lack of accompaniments with the mains and found the side dishes to be pricey. The Scotch bar downstairs stood out as a highlight, with knowledgeable staff and a great atmosphere. While some reviewers noted slow service and issues with noisy patrons, the staff received high praise for their efforts to create a romantic dining experience. Overall, Malt provides excellent food, service, and ambiance, making it a great choice for a special occasion.
If lunch in a CBD food court isn't floating your boat and a little bit of class is the order of the day, may I suggest reserving yourself (and friends if
Beautiful little intimate restaurant tucked away on the 2nd floor, with brick walls and a grand piano +/- live music.
We had a 7:45pm reservation last night and unfortunately weren’t seated until 8:15pm. It then took until 10:30pm before we were able to leave. For a set banquet costing $241, and with a booking secured in advance, this was very disappointing. It felt like the restaurant had clearly overbooked, as wait times seemed to be an issue across the board. There was very little effort made to manage or mediate the situation, and not even a complimentary drink was offered given the delay. The food itself was great — we genuinely can’t fault that — but the overall experience was overshadowed by the long wait and lack of acknowledgment. Hopefully next year numbers are capped more appropriately, as I imagine many guests would have left feeling just as dissatisfied due to too many bookings being taken for what the venue could realistically handle.
