Menu

The restaurant from Brisbane offers 118 different menus and drinks on the menu at an average price of A$10.

The restaurant in question is a popular spot for West End locals, featuring a pretty blue and white cafe decor that could use a bit of cleaning and refurbishment. Despite the ambiance, the food has received mixed reviews. Some diners praised dishes like dips, mushrooms, and calamari, while others were disappointed by the tasteless, dry souvlaki and lack of flavor in certain menu items. The restaurant is described as a cozy Greek Cypriot establishment with a limited but satisfying menu. Customers can enjoy hearty servings of kebabs, sausages, and other traditional dishes in a homely, informal setting. The venue has also been commended for its generous portions and authentic Greek flavors, making it a go-to spot for a cultural culinary experience. Prices are reasonable, and the restaurant receives high marks for its welcoming staff and efficient service. Overall, the restaurant is recommended for those seeking authentic Greek flavors in a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere.

What Naomie Dickinson dislikes about Kafenio:
Popular local restaurant for West End locals. Pretty blue and white cafe that would look better with cleaning and refurbishment of furniture and floor. Dips, mushrooms and calamari were good and as described. View all feedback.

This restaurant offers authentic Greek cuisine in a traditional setting. Forget about upscale Greek eateries serving modern or European-inspired dishes. If you're looking for a genuine Greek meal and the atmosphere of a small village or island, then this is the place to visit. Even after living in Greece for many years, this is still my go-to spot.

Really good, authentic Greek food at reasonable prices. Servings are typically Greek; that is, huge. We enjoyed a work group lunch and ordered from the Kid's Menu as we saw how massive the equivalent full servings were. The service was quick and friendly and the food was excellent. Best hot chips in West End.

Delicious authentic humble Greek food. Kafenio is run by a lovely caring family who genuinely look after their customers. Very quick and efficient staff. Drop in mid week or book a table for friends family for a weekend feast. You are not pressured to get the banquet if you are in a large group, they just want you to be happy. Eveything is made from scratch with fresh produce. Look for the big blue house, top of Vulture St! Plenty of street parking or 4 min bus ride ftom the cultural centre on the 199!! BYO and fully stocked. Enjoy their home made sweets a Greek coffee or bring a birthday cake! Shiftellias, octopus, grilled meats, haloumi etc... and souvla on a Fri night or Sunday lunch is a must!!

We three took a weekday  lunch at this quaint authentic establishment.<br/ The place is laid back and oozes  Greek/Cypriot atmosphere with the many Greek expats filling the tables chatting, taking coffee and playing table games.<br/ The glasses and   complimentary water was presented immediately by our charming host..<br/ We choose a meze of dishes to graze on accompanied with a BYO bottle of 'Arrogant Frog ' french Rose economical perfect for a light lunch. <br/ <br/ BYO at $2.50 p/p was fair for licenced premises and also offering  fair priced liquor such as Greek or Cyprus beer at only $6 and $7 also spirits and wine including a very  basic Aust house wine.<br/ Food arrived promptly and was presented well garnished and accompanied with juicy lemon wedges for squeezing on flavour.<br/ The bowl of salad was fresh and crisp, the Haloumi tasty and the dips pleasant.<br/ The three traditional sausage dishes although tasty i found a bit dry, likewise the lamb pieces also were not  tender, possibly a reheat.<br/ I are advised parking is offered to diners at the rear.<br/ Overall a fun place to be,ill be back!

Nestled between Montague Rd and Hardgrave Rd in West End, this charming blue and white themed restaurant offers a truly authentic Greek dining experience. The homemade BBQ flavor of the meat dishes was a standout, although the lamb was a bit dry. We plan on returning to try the spit roast lamb, which we believe will enhance our overall experience. The salads and chips were delicious, the chicken was fantastic, and we particularly enjoyed the baby octopus. The service was lovely, and the prices were very affordable - only $36.00 for two people, including a $30 dinner plate and a $6 octopus side dish that was surprisingly filling. Overall, a classic Greek food experience that we highly recommend.
