The shopping center is bustling with activity. It is convenient for local residents as it is typically fast and easy to navigate. The center offers a variety of services including a doctor's office, post office, Woolworths, butchers, chemist, and a couple of cafes.
If you live in the local area near Latrobe Street, Paddington Central is a great find. Your shopping options are limited to places like Toowong and Ashgrove downtown. The center is anchored by a Woolworths and also includes a post office, bakery, independent pharmacy, bottle shop, and plenty of food and coffee choices. One of the main reasons I go there is for the doctor's surgery. S N Pathology, which used to be located within the medical practice, now has its own separate storefront directly across from the center. Paddington Central isn't a place to spend a whole day shopping - it's more about convenience. There's a grocery store, a few specialty shops, and great coffee available from 107.
I've been coming to Decked Cafe for coffee for about 2 5 times a week for 4 5 months now, to have meetings and grab a coffee. I chose decked because it is an easy place to find a park (in the carpark behind the complex is easiest and it is a great place to catch up with people which is why I keep coming back. The service is great (Dan, Emma and Claire are all friendly, have a chat when you're up for one and leave you alone when you don't. They do a great job of getting the orders out, food and coffee tastes great and the coffee with a chocolate freckle as a treat. Is highly recommend it for a casual catch up. (This is NOT the coffee shop that replaced spoon on la trobe terrace as suggested by another review writer.
A friend and I recently had coffee and cake here. It is very friendly and has a nice atmosphere but there was a disappointing choice of cakes and none looked homemade. (They looked like they were bought from Woolies downstairs! Even so, I decided to try the banana bread which was nicely presented and tasted ok but nothing special. And I found the coffee a bit lacking in flavour. They also had on the menu homemade soup and a variety of sandwiches which may have been a better choice. The glass top tables are fun ours had Smurfs underneath.
