I came here with a friend for lunch... read more The overall standard of pub meals has improved in the past 10 years, unfortunately Chermside Tavern did not get this memo. I came here with a friend for lunch. We got a $10 lunch specials, she got the fish n chips and I got the chicken schnitzel. Chips were good. The schnitzel was overcooked, I was hungry so I ate it. The sauce on the salad was unnecessary and ruined a perfectly good salad. Service was friendly enough. Food came out quickly. The premises were clean. The outdoor setting facing the trees is its saving grace otherwise this is below average pub food in a convenient location. At least the company was great....

Between profiteering (applying a surcharge on a non public holiday) a half-assed menu & a quality of actual food that is severely lacking, is clear this cookie-cutter crapfest survives via the patronage of the lowest common denominator alone. Dear Woolworths, get out of the of the pub game & try to fix your failing core business.
