Brooklyn Standard is a lively music and party bar located in the heart of Brisbane CBD. We are dedicated to providing our customers with an unforgettable EXPERIENCE. Our bar offers a carefully curated selection of drinks, top-notch live music performances every night, and a team of talented bartenders. We have proudly been named the Best Live Music Venue in Australia in 2015, 2019, and 2021 at the Australian Bar Awards. Our venue hosts bands across various genres, ensuring a night filled with Funk, Soul, Rock and Roll, Mariachi, Rockabilly, RnB, and more. To complement the music, we also offer a mouthwatering American-inspired food menu. Nestled in a dimly lit brick cellar accessible through a hidden laneway door on Eagle Lane, Brooklyn Standard welcomes a diverse crowd to enjoy live music acts and bands. Whether you prefer sitting at low-set tables, wooden booths, or the bar, there is a spot for everyone. We are open Monday to Saturday and feature excellent live music six nights a week - stay updated by checking our Facebook page. As we like to say, "If the music's too loud, you are too old!" So if there's ever a zombie apocalypse, I'm heading straight for this cosy subterranean bar space - not necessarily for safety but to work through the variety of drinks on offer. American brews on tap, vino for every palate & a range of cocktails. On arrival a rando patron was playing Fur Elise onstage on the piano while Axl Rose laboured 'Patience' over the sound system in the background. Awesome! This is just my kind of casual dichotomy and you could sense the broad appeal of something for everyone. Work colleagues assure me that when there's (paid) live music the place is pumping. Meanwhile we were totally vibing on the 90s rock playlist for our midweek get together. Bar snacks for those so inclined. Sticky tables. ????
The best way I can describe my experience at Brooklyn Standard would be to say it is a better lit and less authentic version of Greaser (Fortitude Valley) in the CBD. Brooklyn Lager and Blue Moon on tap were highlights. $8 for a 355ml (12 oz) can of Coors is laughable - you can buy a 12 pack for the same price in any US grocery store. Best part about Brooklyn Standard is the live music (9pm on Saturday) and the fact that they serve tacos from Chingon Cantina y Taqueria next door.
Hands down the best bar in Brisbane! Every time I had the best time! The staff is really authentic with funny attitude, great music and lots of laughter. I'm sure I'm back!
