Mcgills - Bray
Mcgills
Description
Nestled within a stunning hotel, McGills Bar and Restaurant offers a mixed dining experience for guests. While some have enjoyed attentive service and a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of an Irish pub, others have found the food and cleanliness lacking. Dishes like the battered cod and Jenga chips fell short of expectations, with repeated issues of incorrect orders and poorly cleaned tables. Nonetheless, specialty items and afternoon teas garner positive remarks, and the dedicated staff strive to provide a memorable atmosphere. Despite the critiques, many appreciate the overall luxury of the hotel, promising a worthwhile visit.

Scenic and characterful location but food overpriced €47 for 1 tea, 1 coffee and 2 sausage rolls
I recommend. After a tour of the beautiful gardens, we visited for refreshments. It was a weekday, few customers, no waiting, fast service probably students on practice. We chose 2 quiches (heated) with vegetable salad and pasta bolognese. All very tasty. Just a small recommendation: add umbrellas to the terrace (it was a sunny day and we were very hot during the meal) clean the table IMMEDIATELY after the guests left (they remained dirty for a long time).
Just went to café for a light lunch. Food was first class, very tasty. Staff very professional and friendly, would particularly mention the young man who is on work experience, very pleasant and friendly and we wish him the very best for his week . If you haven't visited before I would highly recommend it.
