Fish - Bray
Fish
Description
The Fishbar nestled near the harbour offers a picturesque setting despite mixed reviews on food and service. While some raved about the crisp and flavorful Curry Chips, others found the Fish Scraps Box disappointing. The cozy atmosphere and live music at the attached Harbour Bar were highlights for many. The falafel meal was a unique vegetarian option with tasty homemade toppings. Prompt service and buzzers to notify when orders are ready added convenience. With a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, this spot provides a relaxed setting away from the bustling shops. Overall, a must-visit for fish n chips enthusiasts looking for a charming Irish pub experience.

Whenever I’m in Bray, this is where I head for a meal. The only downside was a specific visit where the staff were surprisingly short with my dad. He took it in stride, joking that it was just part of the local charm, but the locals sitting beside us were quick to tell us that such behavior isn't normal for Ireland. Aside from that one-off encounter, I still highly recommend this spot.
It's exactly what you're looking for: friendly, cost, warm, great food, family and dog friendly and just makes for a perfect meal and place to chill while exploring the city. A must go!
We ordered fish and chips to take away and enjoy on the beach, and it was excellent. We also tried the loaded fries, a spice box with mixed fish, and fish tenders with chips. The staff were friendly and efficient. Everything was fresh and tasty, without any greasy aftertaste. The highlight was the gluten-free curry chips for my daughter, who has celiac disease—a rare find in Bray. We later learned they also offer gluten-free toasted sandwiches, so we'll definitely be returning to try those. Highly recommended.
