Description

Nestled in the heart of the community, this fish and chip shop elicits mixed reactions from its patrons. While some rave about the generous portions and expertly cooked fish, others bemoan the rising prices and lackluster service. The quality appears inconsistent, with a few highlighting soggy fish and underwhelming sides such as pea fritters. Despite cash-only transactions being a plus for some, the overall dining experience suffers from a lack of warmth from the staff. Though it remains a popular choice for takeaway, diners seem divided on whether it lives up to its reputation as a local favorite.

1 of the few fish and chip shops opened on Sunday! we wanted to take away, but not a massive or 2 price 1 so decided 4 the children's meal deal we have 3 decent size cable fish bites with generous amount of chips only £4.50 that add a small drink! deft good price-performance ratio a young child would not eat in the ply 2 so much, great for oap or smaller appetit!

Pleasantly surprised by the size and quality. I command the regular cadjau and chips with a fervent fritter. the fervent fritter was terrible, but both cadjau and chips were really good, fresh crispy and not too greasy.

Spent ages trying to find a chippie that sold Skate/Skate Wings for my Dad who loves it. Found Smithsons via a Google review from back in 2016 as they don't have a website. Gave them a call and they answered immediately and confirmed that they still sold Skate which was an answer to pray. They do take phone orders for collection but we chose to order in person. Covid adherence was very good and the wait time, considering the Skate Wings were cooked to order, was very short. Portions are more than enough and the quality is amazing. Highly recommemd this place to any officianados of the great British chippie. Menu is correct at time of review as collected when we ate there on Friday 20th November 2020.

The best Fish and chips in Bournemouth as the staff are always friendly and the food is excellent. Fish has never any bones and the chips are fantastic not at all greasy and very plentiful
