The check-in process was smooth, the staff were helpful, and my room was spacious and cleaned daily. The breakfast was simple, but the staff were quick to assist. The lunch options were varied and delicious every day, and I couldn't find any faults with the evening meals either. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

This is our second visit to the Hermitage and on both occasion they have had problems with the Kitchen. You would expect with just three of us our meals would come out together. But not here. Two meals came out and we were well into our meal before the third plate came out. Then we had finished before the side dish to the third meal came. This after our booked Afternoon Tea three months before. We were told there would be a hours wait.

The service was poor, and the waiter most put out that the only one vegetarian arrived instead of the stated two . I had to, therefore, have a vegetarian tea. I left early and trying to work out how much I had to pay proved too much for the hotel staff to cope with. Eventually it was sorted with the help of a manager. The high tea was not worth the price charged, in my opinion.

The hotel is clean and nicely presented. We upgraded from our double room which was a little disappointing and enjoyed our stay in a suite which we enjoyed. The... read more The hotel is clean and nicely presented. We upgraded from our double room which was a little disappointing and enjoyed our stay in a suite which we enjoyed. The restaurant is clean but looks a little dull with its dark table and chairs. The staff are very good. The position of hotel is good being near local attractions and the hop on and off bus stopping opposite. The beach is a few seconds walk with many bars for food and drink. The large wheel and pier add to the vibe.
