Bitter Bar in Boulder pairs inventive, well-priced craft cocktails (notably a house-made tonic) with a moody deep-red interior and a small sunny patio, making it a beloved local hangout. Talented mixologists, a lively happy hour and curated music elevate the experience, though service can be uneven—ranging from warm and knowledgeable to brusque—and a few guests report pricing or tipping friction. Despite inconsistencies, committed ownership and distinctive décor keep it a memorable neighborhood cocktail destination.

Was Anonym at The Bitter a mag?
The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. The mixed drinks were fantastic, and they make their own tonic, which is truly unique and refreshing. The atmosphere was a bit noisy and crowded, but it created a fun, sexy, and quirky vibe. It's a great spot for a date if you don't mind leaning in close and speaking a bit louder than usual. What James Simmons dislikes about The Bitter:
Kind of interesting that they served our cocktails in pint glasses on rocks. Was expecting moreso something served in a coop glass. However, it still was tasty. May be a little over priced though. View all feedback.
They changed the amount we tipped, charging $5 more than what was written on the slip.
This is a lovely bar with a fantastic selection of creative and expertly crafted cocktails. They graciously catered to our large group, ensuring that our drinks and water were always topped up.
Bitter Bar is my favorite spot in Boulder! The drinks are fantastic, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is always enjoyable. They also offer a wonderful happy hour until 7 PM.
What an incredible cocktail bar! The manager, Kim, stopped by to share some insights about the place and crafted custom cocktails tailored to our favorite spirits and preferences. Both the Sazerac and the Boulevardier were fantastic. The atmosphere is really inviting, too. Make sure to chat with the bar staff—they're all wonderful! I highly recommend this spot!
