Absolutely amazing food! The steamed chicken buns are a must have and the Ramen broth is flavorful, but not overwhelming. Serving staff were also super polite and welcoming, always making sure to check in on how your order is coming along. The environment was great too! View all feedback.
What Nate Doyle doesn't like about Gaku Ramen Boulder:
Got two kinds of ramen and the Salmon rice. Rice came out burnt, miso ramen was basically flavorless. The steamed bun appetizer was the highlight of the meal. Service was great, though. Staff was generally excellent. View all feedback.
One of the best Ramen in Boulder, but I have had better Ramen. The ambience was cute. We went with in warmer weather, so we were sat outside on the patio. I recommend getting the Ramen with the shrimp. Service 4/5 The service was good nothing extraordinary, but our food didn?t take long to come out and everything was correct Ambience 4/5 I think it was cute how we sat outside on Pearl Street but maybe in the winter it would be different Food 4/5 I?m giving this food based solely off not having any experience of having excellent Ramen. The food itself was tasty and it was warm. I thought it was interesting that the Ramen came with shrimp, since I never had that before. All in all as food in itself, it was delicious. But in comparison to actual Ramen, I would say not the the best. But definitely the best, Ramen in Boulder. If you know, you know .

Disappointing. Had the tonkotsu ramen and the broth was bland and oily. I was expecting rich deep flavor and even with the black garlic added just wasn't tasting it. Also the noodles could def be thicker and chewier again kinda unnoticeable. The star was the pork which was actually really good. Service was also slow. I went in at 4:30 it was dead and it still took over 20 minutes to get my food.
This was an incredibly disappointing experience. We waited over 35 minutes for tonkotsu ramen, miso ramen, and a pork belly rice bowl. A few of us ate our food out of sheer hunger, but I could barely stomach the few bites I had. The ramen bowls were warm at best, definitely not 165 degrees, which they should be served at. The eggs we added for $1.95 each were hard boiled and not soft and jelly. The charsui pork was probably the saddest pork I?ve ever seen and tasted?grey and flavorless, like it was run through a high-temp dishwasher. My husband said the noodles in his miso ramen were barely warm and not particularly soft. The rice bowl was ok?one dimensional but edible. We got some apps that came out very fast, gyoza and gaku buns. Gyoza was fine but the buns were slightly warm on the edge and ice cold in the middle. The service is the only reason I?m giving two stars, the kids working were probably doing the best they could. Our server was very congenial and recognized that we had been waiting a long time for our food and went to check on it. This restaurant is clearly going through some growing pains. If you?re well versed with ramen, I?d advise against eating here. I?d also advise against it if you?re new to ramen as it might taint your future perception. Hope you guys figure it out.
It was worst ramen i?ve had in USA. Believe me. Don?t waste your money. Water was the best i ordered.
