Was Ron D at Boulder Theater a mag?
I have a deep appreciation for small theaters, and the Boulder did not disappoint. The architecture is beautiful, the sound quality is excellent, and the atmosphere is intimate. The lines for drinks are quick and convenient, and the audience is wonderful. The staff is fantastic, and the music was outstanding! View all feedback.
What Warren Ricketts dislikes about Boulder Theater:
The bouncers at this place are extremely unprofessional. My girlfriend was falsely accused of having a fake ID, even though her ID is completely legitimate. She had just moved from Washington state. I would advise against visiting this bar; however, if you must go for an event, I suggest bringing an additional form of identification if you have an out-of-state ID. About a week or two before the show, the box office contacted me to ask if I needed any special accommodations since I had purchased disabled seating. On the night of the performance, the level of service and care continued to impress me as I was assisted to my seat. While the theater itself wasn't fully accessible, the staff quickly provided portable ramps for my use. I honestly felt like a VIP, even though I didn’t buy VIP tickets. They went above and beyond to ensure that my mother and I had a wonderful experience. I am eagerly looking forward to attending another show here in the future! Huge thanks to the Boulder Theater staff for the fantastic experience – you are truly a shining example of outstanding service!

This is a fantastic, cozy venue for live performances. The drink prices are even more affordable than those at shows in downtown Denver, and there are plenty of great places to grab a bite to eat before and after the show. The last performance I attended featured The BoDeans, and they really rocked the place!
As a former bartender, I understand they were just doing their jobs, but I believe they should invest in an ID scanner or a black light to ensure they’re not solely relying on judgment, which can be quite flawed. Once I finally gained entry, I appreciated that they offered me a drink, but by then, there was no seating available and very limited food options. Unfortunately, my anxiety escalated throughout the evening, causing me to feel ill and leave my favorite artist's concert early, which really dampened my night. I’d highly recommend visitors with an out-of-state ID to bring another form of identification or have the non-emergency police number handy to avoid similar issues.
Make sure to bring several forms of ID with you, as the bouncers seem unsure about how to recognize a valid enhanced driver's license. It might also be a good idea to have the non-emergency police number handy to ensure they take you seriously. It was a frustrating experience that spoiled our night.
