Visiting the BDT is always a delightful experience! The performance of "Fiddler on the Roof" was truly exceptional. The talent of the performers is incredible—their singing, dancing, and acting are all top-notch! It's great to have the actors and actresses also serving as waitstaff, which adds a personal touch to the experience. I'm so grateful to have witnessed such a well-produced musical live.
I've attended countless musicals throughout my life, and the BDT still stands out as one of my all-time favorites. The servers and actors are exceptional, the food is consistently great, and the atmosphere is unmatched. I'll be really sad when this venue closes in January, but at least I have one more chance to experience it with "Fiddler on the Roof."
If BDT were to remain open, I would genuinely suggest reserving a full table for families if they have young children or designating specific family nights for shows. The food was delicious, though I was disappointed not to get the apple strudel I wanted. It's been challenging to find the right words for this review, and it has nothing to do with BDT's service. I doubt anyone from that night will read this review, and I can't imagine BDT is tracking reviews as they prepare to close. I noticed the eye rolls and disapproving looks directed at me while I was there with my two little ones watching 'The Sound of Music.' Yes, they were a bit loud, but they managed just fine despite everything. I understand both perspectives: those who were frustrated with my children’s presence and those who may have spent a significant amount on their table. I ask for your kindness the next time you’re out celebrating a big anniversary or a special birthday, and you see a single mom trying to enjoy a night out with her kids while instilling in them an appreciation for culture and civility. Remember, she paid just as much for her table, and many single mothers like myself are navigating these experiences without strong family support or babysitters. They're trying to introduce their children to the beauty of theater that is slowly fading away. So, please be kind. Thank you to BDT for your kindness during my visit.
The performances and performers are wonderful! The food is very bad. My dinner was cold and lacked flavor. I would suggest eating at home, just having drinks, and enjoying the show!
