Was Joanie Hills at The Cottage a mag?

The biscuits and gravy were tasty, although the gravy was a bit greasy and had a lot of sausage in it, making for a very filling dish—I didn't eat anything the rest of the day! The eggs Benedict were excellent, but I found it odd that hash browns came with an extra charge while fries did not, especially since they are both potatoes! The Cottage Fry Up was loaded with meat and just as hearty.

What John P dislikes about The Cottage:

The food did not justify the $15 price. The biscuits came with very little gravy, which was overly salty, overpowering the taste of the sausage. The service was attentive—I asked for extra gravy and they brought a small cup—but it remained too salty. At 10 AM, the restaurant was mostly empty, and the combination of poor acoustics and hardwood floors created an unpleasant atmosphere. I would suggest dining elsewhere. View all feedback.

A lovely local spot perfect for weekend brunch or an after-work dinner. The food is good, not incredible but one of the better options in Bothell if you plan to dine in somewhere. We often get the mocha and spiced cider in the mornings. I appreciatetheir wine and cocktail selection, too. It’s hard to judge when they’re too busy to take non-reservations, so I recommendalways reserving online in advance. Weekend brunch seems to have the most activity, so plan to reserve a day or two beforehand.Their kitchen can be slow sometimes, so expect a bit of a wait to get the food in peak times. But last time we had a long wait, the server brought us a complimentary scone/muffin to keep us sated for a while, which was a nice gesture — and a greatbusiness strategy to avoid hungry upset diners! The patio has heated tables, which is nice, but the tables themselves are oftenwobbly and offer little legroom. If you are noise sensitive like I am, eating inside the dining room space will likely be toomuch; the noise bounces like crazy (and a lot of the patrons are loud chatters! :

I’ve been wanting to try the Cottage for brunch for awhile. We went on Friday and they have cheaper drinks Mon Fri which was a bonus. The drinks were a fun way to start off the meal. The service was slow but the waitress was nice. The biscuits and gravywere really good but the gravy was a little on the greasy side and tons of sausage. It was very filling that’s for sure. Idon’t think I ate all day after that. The eggs Benedict was spot on but you had to pay extra for hash browns but it wasn’tan additional charge for fries. Not sure why it’s all a potato. Ha! The cottage fry up was full of meat and was anotherfilling meal. All the meals that came out looked delicious. It’s very cute and quaint inside and very inviting. They also haveoutside seating with heat lamps. Also they had this really good homemade hot sauce and if you call 72 hours in advance they willmake it fresh for you and I will be ordering it. The jam was good too!

Impressive delicate food served here. It’ll be great if you are not super hungry when you arrive. It takes a while to be seated and to wait after ordering. The waiting line was long at the 9am opening for brunch. French press coffee was about 1liter size. Good for maybe 3 ppl to share. Quiche has really nice texture, the best I’ve tasted. Biscuit and gravy was verynicely done. Even the oatmeal looked great. Prices are pretty steep though.

Another day of exploration leads us to The Cottage here where we were greeted promptly on a sunny Sunday, then told we needed to allow 15 minutes for availability, but we could provide a phone number and receive a text when a table was ready. No prob. Lotsof cute shops, good sidewalks and shaded benches here and there, or if you're a speed walker you could dash down to the riverand back. Seated at one of those marble-topped bistro cafe-type tables, we accessed the menu via QR code. Ordered coffee, avocado toast, croissant baked French toast and sides of bacon. Received everything in a timely and friendly manner. Food wasgood. Not amazeballs, but good. What dropped down the rating has not a lot to do with the food, but other stuff: a lot of flies, especially in the restrooms; the table we were shown to hadn't been wiped down too well as it had coffee drips and some stickystains on it even before we sat down. So yes, a nice place, a friendly place, great location. Parking can be easy on street ornearby, though at busy times you may have to walk a bit. We liked our visit here to The Cottage.

My husband and I moved to Washington close to 2 years ago and within our first month here we went to The Cottage. We were taken care of by Madison and she was so welcoming the entire time. I had the shrimp n grits (recommend trying! during brunch hoursand sat out on the patio. Over the last 2 years my husband and I have gone back a few times, however our last time we finallysaw Madison again. 2 years later and she was able to remember us, asked us how the lady 2 years in Washington had been andremembered that we were newlyweds. That day happened to be our anniversary and we were surprised with a complimentary dessert tocelebrate. I’m in absolutely awe to have found a place that is cozy, has good food, and staff that is invested in each personthat dines in.

I recently visited this restaurant and was impressed with the great atmosphere and speedy service, even during peak hours. Unfortunately, my meal didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the cottage burger and fries, but both were overwhelmingly salty to the point where I couldn't finish them. With some adjustments to the seasoning, this place has the potential to be a real winner. Service: Dine in

We adore The Cottage for its quaint homey atmosphere, including a roaring fireplace in the back and squashy chairs mixed in with regular dining chairs. There’s a cute little “gift shop” style corner at the check in counter that adds to the charm. The menu is delicious and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. I’ve brought out of town guests twice now and both times they were very impressed with the food. The shrimp and grits is warm and bursting with flavor. The sauce is flavorful and the grits are pillowy. The shrimp has a nice crispy spiced exterior. The short rib hash has so many yummy veggies and two kinds of potatoes. The herby sauce on top adds a lovely burst of freshness. Add the homemade hot sauce and you’ve got a perfect meal. I took one star off for the drinks. Of all the cocktails and fancy coffees we’ve gotten, it’s all sounded great but tasted just okay. We’d return for the food but not the drinks. Dietary restrictions: My husband is allergic to wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and seafood and they were able to accommodate nicely with the short rib hash. My sister has celiacs and did a lot of research for brunch spots and landed on this one due to their ability to accommodate allergies.

I had the delightful hazelnut prawn pasta with lobster sauce, which was simply wonderful. We also ordered the salmon, and it was excellent as well. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, the staff provided us with exceptional service and surprised us with complimentary cheesecake, which added a special touch to our experience. I've visited this restaurant several times, and it's been enjoyable every time. It tends to be very busy, so making a reservation is highly recommended. Be prepared for higher prices, though.

While exploring Bothell after a wonderful dinner nearby, I stumbled upon this charming little bistro called The Cottage. It features live music and serves excellent drinks, coffee, and delicious desserts. What a fantastic discovery!

This charming café and nighttime venue has quickly become my favorite spot for events, dinner, and music, as well as enjoying a lovely cup of coffee during the workweek! I appreciate the staff for always making me feel so welcome.

The Cottage hosted a private event today for our women's group, Illuminating Women,LLC and our 1st north end luncheon. They were spectacular in food choice to accommodate healthy and restricted diets, taste, presentation, customer service and attention to detail. I highly recommend The Cottage for all your casual dining needs and a place to call home away from home.

The servers are truly happy and kind. They accommodate you the best way and then treat you like family. This was my first visit with my daughter and we loved it. They were best place to relax and we didn’t expect the extra jazz live music We will be back!

Amazing food, friendly service and wonderful decor with affordable prices. What more could you want?! I'm probably shooting myself in the foot as it was a 30 minute wait for a table, but this place is awesome sauce! Croissant came out warm flaky and sinful with butter and fresh jam. The biscuits and gravy (pictured) was perfect. Not to salty, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuits were amazing, light fluffy with a bit of crunch on the outside. First time visiting, but won't be my last. Bravo!!!

This charming local restaurant is an ideal choice for weekend brunch or an after-work dinner. The food is good, not exceptional, but it's definitely one of the better dining options in Bothell. In the mornings, we often enjoy their mocha and spiced cider. I also appreciate their selection of wines and cocktails. Keep in mind that it can be hard to get a table without a reservation when they’re busy, so I recommend booking online in advance. Weekend brunch is particularly lively, so it’s best to reserve a day or two ahead. Occasionally, the kitchen can be slow, especially during peak times, so be prepared for a bit of a wait for your food. However, on our last long wait, the server kindly brought us a complimentary scone or muffin to keep us satisfied, which was a thoughtful touch and a smart way to keep diners from becoming upset! The patio has heated tables, which is a nice feature, but the tables can be wobbly and provide limited legroom. If you’re sensitive to noise like I am, dining inside might not be ideal, as the acoustics can amplify conversations and many patrons tend to be quite loud.
