Azul Restaurant & Lounge - Bothell
Azul Restaurant & Lounge
Description
Azul Restaurant offers a diverse menu with both meat and vegan options, although some reviewers found the food lacked authentic Mexican flavors. Despite this, the complimentary chips and salsa, bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers, and vegan fajitas were highly recommended. The restaurant received praise for accommodating guests with service animals and providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Many diners enjoyed the BBQ ribs and carne asada with coconut shrimp, labelling them as must-try dishes. Overall, Azul is noted for its delicious food, friendly staff, and excellent customer service, making it a popular choice in the Mill Creek area.

I appreciate that they have a specific vegan menu and it is not full of fake meats or tofu. I had the vegan burrito and it was so good. I feel like I am often pushed to fajitas at Mexican restaurants but this was a great alternative. Updated from previous review on 2024-03-12
I grew up around Azul and frankly I have just never liked the food. There are a lot more veg friendly options than there used to be, but I’m still unimpressed. I had to ask for the vegan menu at lunch time, and the menu only has three options, with one off menu item of vegan enchiladas (even though the online menu had more options). I tried the vegan fajitas and they were pretty good. The green beans were delicious, but everything else was just fine. The coconut rice wasn’t my favorite. The flour tortillas were those ones that are processed and bad (imo). However, the veggies were fresh and the salsas were better than the average restaurant. Overall, it’s a decent option, especially if you like veggie heavy dishes. However, for me, it’s just okay. Unless someone non veg wants to come here, I personally would skip it. Good cauliflower tacos, although it didn’t seem nearly like authentic mexican food. A lot of it wasn’t spiced/flavored much. Updated from previous review on 2023-05-10
Had the vegan cauliflower tacos twice. Amazing Mexican food. The staff is super nice as well.
We've tried all of their vegan options which include cauliflower tacos, a burrito, fajitas, chips and salsa, and a roasted corn and avocado dip. All options were solid, filling, and tasty. It's a really good option if you're with a mixed group of people, but the price is on the higher side-around $17 per entree.
