I love the farmer's market because there are plenty of vegan options alongside the fresh, seasonal products. Here are some of the vendors I know who offer vegan products: Mountain Flower Bakery, which has delicious vegan mini sweet bread loaves and occasionally other vegan baked goods; Foggy Mountain Pasta, where I discovered homemade vegan pasta—I've only seen one type so far, but it was fantastic; Essie Olive, a popsicle cart that serves tasty popsicles, always with 2-3 vegan options; and finally, there are some organic chocolate vendors (whose names I don't know) that offer dark chocolates sweetened with maple.
This restaurant offers a variety of intriguing vegan options, featuring many fresh and organic vegetables. While the raw food items are no longer available, there is a pasta stand that sells ten flavors of vegan zucchini noodles, as well as a selection of ravioli known as "Pasta Wench." The shop also has a lovely assortment of crafts to browse. Though it could benefit from fewer meat options, it primarily sources its ingredients from a small family-run farm rather than a large commercial farm. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit!
The farmer’s market has seen an improvement in both the quality and variety of products offered. It operates from May to October on Saturdays, and during part of the summer, it is also open on Wednesdays. While not all the food is locally grown and not everything is organic, it's a good idea to check if these factors are important to you. Nonetheless, you'll find excellent selections of vegetables and other agricultural products.
The Watauga County Farmer's Market is one of the most wonderful markets I have ever been to. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, this is where you will find the real Boone, NC. At Hold the Heat Raw Food Makery's booth Saturday mornings you will find raw food breakfast of raw granola, nut milk and fruit. On Wednesdays you will find salads and flax chips with guacamole and fresh salsa from dinner or evening snack. Other products for sale include: Flax Chips, Raw Chocolate, Raw Truffles, Spicy Sprouts, Fresh Sprouts, Raw Granola, Fresh Kombucha, Nut Milk, and Seed Cheese (to name a few).
- **Mountain Flower Bakery**: They have delicious vegan mini sweet bread loaves, and sometimes other vegan baked goods as well. - **Foggy Mountain Pasta**: They make homemade vegan pasta; I’ve only seen one type so far, but it was really tasty. - **Essie Olive**: This is a popsicle cart that offers tasty popsicles, and they usually have 2-3 vegan options available. - **Organic Chocolate Vendor**: I’m not sure of the name, but they sell dark chocolate bars with maple. Overall, the Peasant Market is a fantastic spot for anyone looking for vegan choices!
