Was Anonym at The Gamekeeper a mag?
we consider the dinner at the gamekeeper as must and the highlight of a trip to the mountain. we had the mixed game grill, pesto pasta with garnel and fresh papardelle, mushrooms and spinach and watermelon and minze sorbet. everything from cocktails to dessert was amazing! View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about The Gamekeeper:
It was our anniversary after we got through the first and only glitch of not having someone come to the table; the night went on superbly. They even gave us a complementary red wine to enjoy with our dinner. I had the emu and my husband had the elk both of which were fantastic. We will definitely be back again!! View all feedback.

Another fabulous dining experience at the Gamekeeper. And it IS an experience. The presentation, quality, and flavors are second to none. The atmosphere is fun and quirky. The staff is well-trained and very knowledgeable about the wine and entrees. Even if you are not a 'meat ' eater, you will find wonderful options.

Amazing unique food. Had the elk Denver leg, no bone FYI. It was delightful with the veggies medley and sweet potatoes. I can’t wait to come back and try more item. Bison short rib is next on my list!

I swear everything was delicious! I really enjoyed how upscale the food was mixed with a casual atmosphere. Our waitress (Beth) was the best. We never went without water and she was very helpful with the many questions we had. Steak Tartare; It was veryflavorful but on the edge of salty. Detailed breakdown of our dinner below; Okra Salad; They we’re not overly breadedallowing the Okra flavor to come through. The Pimiento Cheese pairing was nice. It doesn’t need the greens but they don’thurt the dish. Bison Short Rib; Very much “fall of the bone” if you haven’t had bison short rib it isn’t quite likepork but has a slightly firmer texture. The flavors on the rib were great, the garlic mashed potatoes also hit the spot, theyhad small pieces of potato in them that added nice texture. The vegetables were definitely undercooked (the other plate at thetable had more appropriately cooked vegetables), so a slight disappointment there. Emu Filet; Great flavors all around (lovedthe sauce) and a very nice cook on the Emu as well. It’s very interesting for bird meat to be so similar to steak, sosomething I would recommend trying. Blue Mac; Great! If you don’t like Blue Cheese you won’t like it but if you do you’lllove it! Lemon and Blueberry Bar; It was good but order the Bourbon Bread Pudding lol. Last but not least the Bourbon BreadPudding; They have been making it for 20 years and it shows. A great bread pudding that I won’t spoil but would (strongly)recommend you get. Good buy and have a good dinner?????

One of a kind experience. Kim and I shared a sampler platter of bison and Lamb tenderloin, duck, and alligator sausage. Great drink menu and views from the dining room. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.one of the best culinary experienceswe have had. This is a must stop location in Western North Carolina.
